US Politics - A Society in Meltdown

Just to recount

@anon7035031 believed every lie of the corrupt Trump and the corrupt Barr

He can’t bring himself to admit he was duped despite the evidence being laid out before him

Yet another humiliation for a fool who humiliates himself every time he posts

Sad, so sad

Time to take down the fascist regime

The likes of Greenwald and Taibbi have disgraced themselves

Truth doesn’t need enemies when it has such “friends”

Greenwald and Taibbi are, to use the euphemism from Eugene Ionesco’s play, rhinoceroses - seemingly good people who are seduced by propaganda and seduced into speaking on the terms and through the language and framing of the fascist

Once you do that you are one of them without even knowing it - you are a rhinoceros

Ionesco, who was Romanian and French, wrote “Rhinoceros” in response to seeing his friends become Nazis.

The program book quotes an essay from Timothy Snyder’s book, “On Tyranny,” explaining: “ … Ionesco’s aim was to help us see just how bizarre propaganda actually is, but how normal it seems to those who yield to it. By using the absurd image of the rhinoceros, Ionesco was trying to shock people into noticing the strangeness of what was actually happening.”

“Rhinoceros” questions whether we will follow the herd, or retain our own individuality.

Greenwald and Taibbi look like prize-winning idiots now

Lying shamelessly about the report was exactly what Barr did and they bought it hook, line and sinker

So what’s your take on today’s proceedings? It looks to me like trump is laughing, but not as loudly as Putin?

@sidney now quoting a lad who thinks non-Muslims are animals, atheists are subhuman, and homosexuals should be executed. Further evidence of Sidney’s self hatred, it’s sad to see.

It matters not who laughs loudest (though I do think Putin has been and will be laughing louder & longer); it only provides material for Sid & Labane to consume gigabits of bandwidth without enlightment.

My girl is up… go get him Kammy.

This is glorious, Kamala is head and shoulders over the rest of these useless cunts.

The US standing up for Muslims worldwide, heroic stuff. Showing Ireland how it’s done.

Thread by Republican congressman

Time for the Democrats to step up and do their duty instead of chickening out

Loads more to gain by doing their duty than by chickening out - chickening out only emboldens the fascist

If they don’t do their duty, they will lose one way or the other - don’t be surprised when the fascist rigs the election when you fail to stand up to him

I offer these conclusions only after having read Mueller’s redacted report carefully and completely, having read or watched pertinent statements and testimony, and having discussed this matter with my staff, who thoroughly reviewed materials and provided me with further analysis.

In comparing Barr’s principal conclusions, congressional testimony, and other statements to Mueller’s report, it is clear that Barr intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s analysis and findings.

Barr’s misrepresentations are significant but often subtle, frequently taking the form of sleight-of-hand qualifications or logical fallacies, which he hopes people will not notice.

Under our Constitution, the president “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” While “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” is not defined, the context implies conduct that violates the public trust.

Contrary to Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.

In fact, Mueller’s report identifies multiple examples of conduct satisfying all the elements of obstruction of justice, and undoubtedly any person who is not the president of the United States would be indicted based on such evidence.

Impeachment, which is a special form of indictment, does not even require probable cause that a crime (e.g., obstruction of justice) has been committed; it simply requires a finding that an official has engaged in careless, abusive, corrupt, or otherwise dishonorable conduct.

While impeachment should be undertaken only in extraordinary circumstances, the risk we face in an environment of extreme partisanship is not that Congress will employ it as a remedy too often but rather that Congress will employ it so rarely that it cannot deter misconduct.

Our system of checks and balances relies on each branch’s jealously guarding its powers and upholding its duties under our Constitution. When loyalty to a political party or to an individual trumps loyalty to the Constitution, the Rule of Law—the foundation of liberty—crumbles.

We’ve witnessed members of Congress from both parties shift their views 180 degrees—on the importance of character, on the principles of obstruction of justice—depending on whether they’re discussing Bill Clinton or Donald Trump.

Few members of Congress even read Mueller’s report; their minds were made up based on partisan affiliation—and it showed, with representatives and senators from both parties issuing definitive statements on the 448-page report’s conclusions within just hours of its release.

America’s institutions depend on officials to uphold both the rules and spirit of our constitutional system even when to do so is personally inconvenient or yields a politically unfavorable outcome. Our Constitution is brilliant and awesome; it deserves a government to match it.

Nice tweet

Accurate too

DJT is giving Sleepy Joe an awful kicking on twitter tonight

Wasn’t it the left nutters who called to a young boys house after a nutter Indian fella lied in a cnn interview. YouTube is full of lefties like yourself attacking Republican supporters.

The libel laws are way too lax in the US, basically getting the full protection of the first amendment right to free speech which was always meant for individuals and the government being prevented from persecuting them for their views. This was a horrendous abuse of rights, basically CNN and the Washington Post creating a narrative that was completely false. They took the side of a known liar who built a career out of claiming to be a Vietnam vet, even though he never set foot in Vietnam.

This young man was subjected to vile abuse including death threats, based on media reporting. @Sidney supports this kind of targeted abuse of people he disagrees with, regardless of the fact it was a 16 year old expressing his constitutional rights. It’s classic Stalinist tactics.

AOC subjected to death threats yet again after a Trump supporting baseball team declared her an enemy of the state on a video

@anon7035031 is polishing his gun as we speak, the freak

He supports white terror

Mueller has admitted he was working under the premise that Trump could not be charged with a crime no matter what

Says that he does not have confidence that Trump has not committed crime

I think that’s a cop out on his part

But it is an impeachment referral

Democrats absolutely must begin impeachment proceedings and they must drag all this stuff into the open

Mueller also needs to be subpoenaed to testify in public under oath

You can’t stand by while a corrupt racist demagogue destroys whatever democracy, and there’s not a lot, exists in the US

Otherwise you are part of the problem yourself

I see the bookies are offering short odds on Ted Nugent being president?

Trump has declared war on Mexico.
