Yes but the white privilege thing is a bit of a myth. For one thing there are a lot of truly poor white folks and because they are a not a minority they get no leg up. That’s actually the core of Trump’s support, poor and working class whites who got left behind.
Everyone disadvantaged deserves help, the only hope is through education.

Life is hard for the vast majority of people, in terms of nothing being given. Its either taken or earned.
The concept you speak of exists because up until recently and still in a lot of places, the people in positions of power, are from white, privileged backgrounds.
White privilege for the average white man is bullshit. The people from actual privilege will take a shit on you no matter what colour you are

Where would I get the Jim Crow? I come from a small farmer background in south Galway, the closest we got to oppressing anyone was kicking a few fancy dans from the town.

Exactly. All I’m saying is that historical white privilege is of no value to the great majority of white kids today, in fact the opposite. If you look at most of the big Silicon Valley corporations, their workforce and in many cases their managers up to CEO are from minority backgrounds. That’s a good thing obviously, but there’s no question young white kids are being left behind, for a variety of reasons.
I’m not exaggerating, I’ve attended a few STEM graduation ceremonies here at Berkeley and other top local universities in recent years, and I would say less than 10% of graduates were white. Far more of the minority kids my own kids were in school with went on to good universities, and good programs. It’s hard to put your finger on it, maybe white kids are spoiled and lazy.

Two points,
This discusses shootings, it doesn’t get into traffic stops, stops and searches, and general day to day bias and interactions between police and black people which i think is the main grievance of the black community, the constant suspicion and negativity. The article cherry picks stats, mind you it doesn’t invent them.
But
Discount the negligible instances of those under 14 and over 60 and most women, then roughly 5% of the US population (black males 15-60) commit 53% of all murders. Thats shocking.
