If the economy deteriorates the electorate will want someone with experience of actually running something so that favors an ex governor. There is an argument that governors have actually experience of managing unlike a senator for example. Cruz is poison so it may evolve into Trump vs Bush and Bush would ultimately win that battle.

He has an Obama riff that he has been repeating ad nauseum. Christie laid into him in a debate at the weekend and Rubio got stuck in a loop and just kept repeating his mantra about 3 times with Christie mocking him. Came across as a bot. He’s fucked.
Christie is the best of those republican candidates. He’s the only one not a head case or a creep and he has actual experience running a state unlike Trump, Rubio, Carson. But go figure Christie is about 50/1 to win the republican nomination.
