US Presidential Election 2016: Sidney's Victory Lap

Exit polling show Bernie not alone getting 85% of the < 30 age bracket but getting 53% of the female vote.

All of them except Iowa and New Hampshire. Super Tuesday March 1 is the key date with a shit ton of states that day. The key for Republican candidates is to stay in the race until then.

Carson, possibly Christie, possibly Bush? What about Kasich, will he survive to Super Tuesday?

OK lads, it was funny while it lasted, but seriously, the Trump joke and Sanders socialist thing is done now. If you could just revert back to type please.

Carson could be gone before then, he is in free fall. Trump, Cruz, Bush, Rubio, Kasich, Christie and maybe Fiorina.

Hillary is in trouble with Bernie gaining momentum. If he can get the black vote she is fucked. It could well be Trump versus Bernie which would be compulsory viewing. The pundits are speechless at the prospect.

60% of Trump supporters believe Obama is a Muslim and was not born in the US.

Weā€™re all speechless.

Handy list of fixtures / results / league table here.

Wearing stupidity like a badge of honor seems to be de riguer in politics at the moment, itā€™s very fashionable in Australia.

Hereā€™s Bernie

And heā€™s talking 'bout a revolution

Hereā€™s Donald

Bernie creams Hillary, but he was playing at home for all intents and purposes,. Nevada and SC will be interesting.

Trump walks the REP primary. Kasich pulls away from the rest for 2nd.
Bush,Cruz and Runio all hovering at 11-12% for 3rd. Will take some effort to stop The Donald at this point.

Should be an intersting next couple of months, esp if Bloomberg jumps into the race as an IND, as he says he will if it looks like Sanders and Trump look like getting the respective nominations.

Bloomberg should keep his fucking nose out, heā€™ll only make it easier for the republicans.

No, if anything he would make it easier for Hillary to win if she got the nomination. However he wonā€™t run if Hillary gets the nomination as he knows he wonā€™t beat her, and he has said as much.

In a 3 way race with Sanders and Trump he would stand a decent chance of winning. He would hoover up the middle ground from both sides, taking as many Rep votes as Dem.

Still think Hillary will pull away when all is said and done, she will have most of the South sewn up and probably California too. Fair play to Bernie for making a race of it though, no one gave him a chance.

I canā€™t see how he would make it easier for Hillary. Is he talking about running as a Democrat or an Independent? Agreed about Hillary, she will pull away once the South comes into the equation. She might have to give Bernie a seat at the table somewhere, the support he has canā€™t be ignored. Bernie for VP? Would make sense.
The freak show on the other side could lead to the break up of the GOP, which would be marvellous of course.

He would run as an IND.
He canā€™t beat Hillary. He was a REP mayor of NY, so he appeals to moderate Republicans, so if anything he would split the Republican vote, esp if some loon ball like Trump or Cruz gets the nomination, as moderate Republicans (and they do exist) canā€™t stomach those cunts.
If itā€™s between Bernie and Trump, then he would also appeal to moderate Dems who think Bernie is too far to the left.

He has said he will only run if it looks like itā€™s Sanders vs Trump or Cruz.
He is very much a middle of the road kind of guy. He was a Democrat till 2000. Switched to the Republicans and ran for Mayor of NY, then left the Reps and ran as an Ind for his 2nd term. He would not be liked by fringes on either side, Tea Party cunts hate him, and the progressives on the left wouldnā€™t be too fond of him either. But he would certainly appeal to voters in the middle. He is pro-abortion rights, pro a degree of gun control, supports same sex marriage, believes in Global warming, but is also a big advocate of fiscal conservatism, so he would have appeal to voters on both sides. Money wonā€™t be a problem either as he is a billionaire and has said he would be willing to spend $1B of his own money if he runs.

But he has to make a decision by early March if he wants to get on the ballot on all 50 states.

GOP will win in November.

Thatā€™s arguably the biggest flaw in the primary system too. The states that the most influence on who everyone gets to vote for are not at all representative of the rest of the country.

Polling data at the moment suggests Clinton and Trump are in a strong position to win the next round in Nevada and South Carolina respectively.

If Clinton wins the nomination sheā€™ll be the strong favourite to win in November, especially if itā€™s Clinton vs Trump/Cruz. Since Rubio looks to have wrecked his own chances in that debate the Republicans might need Sanders to have a shot.

Sanders vs Trump/Cruz would be insane. Would feel like war is about to break out.

Who do big business and the military want to win?

Clinton would do them nicely.
