Was in NY over weekend when this broke. A lot of people are fearful because up until now people assumed that a green card meant you could assume a right to live in America, own a business, own a home, have kids in school. The orders changed all that and once you involve the very strong law enforcement arms of a country like the USA then all bets are off. People are worried as to what might happen next so are suspending travel. People are worried about use of FBI or IRS to settle scores. People are worried what Trump would feel able to do if there is a terrorist strike on US soil.
Trump has been in the news constantly since election. It is a fractured country at the moment and anything is possible.

There are scenarios that people have never had to contemplate before. We saw what happened in Boston after Boston bombings under a much more benign regime. Martial law and curfew imposed without any court orders.
