US Election: The Funniest Angry Republican Twitter Responses To Barack Obama’s Victory
This is a genuine campaign ad for South Dakota Republican congresswoman Kristi Noem (who is smoking hot)
I’m delighted to see Kristi crushed Varilek’s corn-dogging and radical ideas.
some gob of teeth on her
Another victory for the clique :guns:
Nate Silver seems to have really annoyed the Republicans over the course of the past few weeks. I suppose the use of data and scientific method in formulating arguments would be inclined to have that effect alright. They had taken to calling him a faggot over the last few days it seems.
I think the kernel of that annoyance is that by callng each of the 50 states correctly, it was a complete triumph for empirical evidence over unfounded beliefs. Right-wingers tend not to like empirical evidence being proved correct. You only have to look at any issue in this election to see that.
Have they called Florida yet? Ladbrokes owe me money!
Gas ad, but it seems to have worked in fairness to her! Corn-dogging just ain’t acceptable in South Dakota it seems.
I thought it was reminiscent of a mission intro to a playstation game.
Babs Keating has been saying that for years.
That is such a bizarre video. That place takes a step closer to civil war every day.
Some chap in that criticised “European Americans”. It would be interesting to see what the results of the election would have been if you took out the votes of US citizens with a European ancestral background, as the Republican vote is almost entirely made up of that ethnic category.
I think it’s more that nutters of that nature are wildly overexposed in the media. American society, income equality aside, is nowhere near as divided as its news networks are.
What you really have is a rather traditional split between Urban and Rural voters. So even in a state like Texas which is seen as the Republican heartland, you still have major cities going to the Democrats.
The whole liberal/conservative thing is a false dichotomy. But it’s useful because you can fix peoples’ attention on relatively insignificant issues and win their favour through them, rather than having to change your policy on bigger and more complicated issues that might involve tackling more powerful interests.
A lot of the so called ‘divide’ would just collapse with the introduction of a third party, because extreme positions would be largely irrelevant if someone could just walk in and adopt the reasonable middle ground.
Go ahead, throw your vote away
I’m not so sure about that WTB. You’re first point is right and it’s well discussed how voters are being enticed to vote against their own interests by being focused instead on abortion or other issues.
But the divide between conservative and liberal in America is widening all the time. This is because certain areas will be staunchly Democrat/Republican and candidates in those areas have to worry more about their own party than the opposition party. So, in a republican area the incumbent will not be worried about losing his seat to a Democrat but more likely could lose it to a more conservative republican… same in liberal areas. This is wiping out the crossover between the parties, is more liberal republicans or more conservative democrats, and widening the gap between the parties. The problem is being reinforced by americans migrating more and more to areas that reflect or follow their own political beliefs.
