No but they have to own the decision and the consequential delays that would follow. They would be deciding to delay the programme to take an ultra-risk averse position contrary to that of the EMA. Making it would effectively rule out the use of J&J seeing as they’ve already got sufficient vaccines for the over 60s. The RTE article I posted earlier suggested the risk for J&J is even less than the minuscule risk from AZ.

Yeah totally agree. Hopefully that lower risk gives them cover to differ on their AZ recommendation. If not they should be given a kick up the hole.
