Vaccine Numbers Log Thread

That’s a slap in the face and leaves me quite shaken.

Surprise vaccinations seem to be the way forward.

It’s like Russian roulette, the vaccine may or may not arrive, and we won’t tell you how many you are getting

Saturday, Sunday and Monday are down days in the middle of a pandemic.

They’re probably not even going to hit their revised target

Disappointing the opposition are not being more vocal on this.

And yet not surprising

Did you see the clip posted last night? Catherine Connolly in the Dáil (sitting at the Convention Centre) referenced GPs expressing concerns about the rollout, promised dates for receipt of vaccinations being missed etc and sought a response from the Minister for Health.

Donnelly, the odious cunt that he is, tried to twist her question into an attack on the healthcare workers that have been working day and night to deliver the vaccination rollout programme.

It gets back to another thing widely mentioned on TFK lately - there’s an underlying dishonesty in the government’s communications and they’re now using ambiguous and misleading wording in relation to the numbers delivered, administered etc.

Absolutely which surprises me as to why the opposition aren’t screaming from the rooftops about it.

They are hiding their incompetence.

They should set modest targets like 20k a week and then look amazing when they vaccinate 30k.

Those targets would be dreadful.

440k vaccine doses administered in the past 4 days in the US. That’s about 770k a week.
About 8.5 per 100 population per week

7.2m vaccine doses administered in the past 4 days in the US. That’s about 12.5m a week.
About 4 per 100 population per week

1.06m vaccine doses administered in the past 4 days in the UK. That’s around 1.85m a week.
About 3 per 100 population per week

80k doses administered last week in the Free State.
About 1.6 per 100 population per week

Way behind.

I thought that was disgusting from Donnelly and in fairness to Connolly she pulled him up on his shit.

The “funny if it wasn’t so serious” thing is that’s the tactic they actually tried to follow. Set shitty, ambitious targets to make themselves look good when they beat them. Yet they’ve conspired to miss them and now they’re ramping down the rollout programme.

Why can’t they release their delivery schedule and update on a daily basis whether these orders were fulfilled or not.

They are fudging the facts and trying to pass the buck here.

This was from about 2 weeks ago.

449k AZ vaccines were scheduled to have been received by the end of this month.

Only 74k AZ vaccines administered by Tuesday.

It seems that our lot are too concerned about controlling the narrative and spinning than getting their thumbs out of their holes and doing something productive. The trickle of stories about GP practices left high and dry has now become a deluge. How long before they get in some communications unit like Norma Foley did with leaving cert debacle to try and control the narrative again. Every doctor should have been given a digitalised counter device that interfaces with a central database in DOH for real time reporting of vaccinated numbers. PPS Number, Sex and Age would have sufficed. A simple U for underlying condition and whatever vaccine was given. Even the most menial of businesses would have software to count and track stock that is not too much of an imposition to maintain. But as it transpires many GP’s in some instances didn’t A) get a delivery for “logistical reasons” or B) get an injection to administer it.
