I have to return some videotapes.
Socialism is in its nature progressive. Progression together.
Communism was an end game that never materialised anywhere.
Capitalism is progression for a lucky few with disregard for the general population or environment.
Sure just keep putting up straw men and knocking them down, that will probably work.
Nail on head
Oooft!
@ladybird1917 won’t like that.
What are you smirking about you little steamer?
I’m probably a hypocrite for many reasons but I don’t see how spelling standards is one of them.
China is a tremendous example Chef.
The guys are so thankful for capitalism over there that they are throwing themselves out of the window with joy.
Capitalism is progression for those with the balls to
make something of themselves based on their own endeavors. I would have thought you would understand that, as that’s what you claim to be. Was it just luck in your case?
The great majority of employment is generated by small business owners, capitalism at its finest.
You don’t see past your Ard Scoil Ris gate education.
I assume you’re a nice fella, but you’re a judgemental Ard Scoil Ris cunt by the way you post.
I am probably judgemental in a certain way alright. Always hated ardscoil. I’ll support their hurlers though.
Capitalism works so long as lazy people and stupid people exist. The alternative is to reward lazy and stupid people.
That’s just not fair.
No straw man argument involved. We are discussing the merits of socialism versus capitalism as an economic model. Your claim is that capitalism has failed, even though capitalism is responsible for the elimination of abject poverty and the creation of wealth and opportunity we have seen in the west. Nobody, least of all me, is saying it is perfect and isn’t subject to corruption, but it is preferable to socialism in any of it’s failed versions.
Not to mention how hundreds of thousands of Indian farmers took their own lives as a result of the demands imposed by capitalism and corporations.
Suicide is a desirable safety valve as far as capitalism and capitalists are concerned.
I suspect it is way too early to tell whether socialism or capitalism is the better model.
If everyone made something of themselves capitalism would die, mate … capitalism needs kids working in sweat shops for 12 hrs a day. It needs children to work down mines for 10cent a day. It needs people to be poor and work for minimum wage, and others who will work for below it. That’s how capitalism works… better regulated versions of it is the best we can hope for, but capitalism still thrives on inequality and misery.
Will we know by 12 O’Clock?
Only the socialists will still be awake then.
