Versus Sophis 18/08/2009

Will Ticketmaster be re-issuing new tickets or will the ones for tonight still be valid?

Most tickets for tonight will still be valid.

Tickets for the Pat Fitz Terrace are all going to be re-issued however. Unless your ticket serial # from Ticketmaster is listed below in which case you need to bring this week’s ticket with you as they will not be reprinting these tickets.

Sorry and 155152

Season ticket holders, ultras, irregular matchday attendees, armchair supporters - you will not believe the trauma TFK has gone through today. Yet again, we’ve been the victim of attempted opposition cheating. We vowed to overcome it and we have done so. The title decider willl go ahead next Tuesday night despite Sophis trying to claim a walkover last night after the league specifically contacted us to advise us that the game was postponed. All that remains is to overcome them on the pitch and we shall do that too.

The end of season review is going to take some writing, I’m going to make a killing on my book.

If anyone is passing McCleans in Malin next week a lift to the match would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance.

What will you bring to the table?

TFK commenced their big-game preparations in earnest last night with a squad bonding session ahead of the weekend retreat.

Shamefully, the two squad members who have been left out of next Tuesday’s 9-man squad failed to turn up. Arshavin23 and KC will be disciplined internally.

Tinnion was the other absentee but he was released by Rocko to attend the wedding of a key sponsor on behalf of the squad.

Also one or two members of the squad were less than gushing in their praise of Aiden McGeady during a question and answer session. Those players will not be starting the game.

MATCH HAS BEEN POSTPONED AGAIN (sophis must be running scared).

FIXTURE WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON 1st SEPTEMBER.

RIDICULOUS MESSING

Ah Christ that’s some joke. Might sue these guys. Only reason I was in Dublin last week was for the game. Only reason I stayed was for the game his week. Plonkers.

This and the Hurling Final in the same week, going be tough on the ticker!!

I wouldn’t have been able to play tomorrow night so it’s actually a boost for me personally. I wasn’t online for most of the morning as I was at physio where I was told that I wouldn’t be able to play for 10 days due to a neck spasm. I reckon I’ll be good to go next week.

This is becoming a bit of a joke. They’ll be lucky if they get it played before the official awards ceremony on the 10th of September.

I am promising wholesale changes for the revised fixture. I think Sophis will have spent the last couple of weeks learning how to cope with the height of Farmer and the box-to-box energy of Smelly for example.*

A few changes in personnel and their plans will be in ruins.

Prepare to be surprised by the final squad announcement.

  • I have chosen those two players purely as an example and can assure both that they are very much part of my plans. Winning the title without farmer would be a tall order.

How are the lads coping with the persistent delays with this fixture? Is the original drink and sex ban still in place?

That ban’s been in place with some of the lads for the last six months or so through no choice of their own.

In fairness, Rocko’s been fairly astute throughout the delays. We were primed for the fixture two weeks ago, well up for it mentally and really on the edge and ready to go. It would have been impossible to maintain that level of intensity and keep it bottled up for 14 days. He therefore gave us permission to leave training camp and spend some time with our families once we found out about the second postponement.

He told us to relax and forget about the game for a day or two and he’s aiming for us to gradually peak again in time for Tuesday night. We’ll have a very heavy session tonight and, depending on knocks picked up, some of us will have a lighter session tomorrow night. Then it’s all about building up mentally on Sunday and Monday to be ready to release controlled aggression and sparkling football on Tuesday night.

I’d be concerned about fitness here lads. Top level sport involves such an emphasis at peaking for the right time that I fear ye may be overtrained after the two week delay whereas Sophis may have been covertly aiming their training for the first week in September all along. A bit like Kilkenny.

Anyway lets hope the game goes ahead this Tuesday, ye must be feeling like prisoners on Death Row with all this building up only to be let down, never mind all the waiting around. Your date with destiny awaits.

Is it possible that this astroleague is only a mickey mouse tourname and of no great relevance?
