Next up a trip to Rome for the Wooden Spoon decider. Defeat there will all but consign Wales to their worst ever season in the 140 year history of the Championship.

Gatland in 13,17 and 21 was badly exposed as lions boss. It wasn’t until Australia ran out of player in 2013 did the lions take charge. In 17 he totally fucked up and was blessed sonny bill got a red to scrape a serious draw. In 2021 his team played some of the worst rugby of all time and they managed to lose.

He was blessed to take charge of Wales when they not only had very good players but they were big units. Phillips, north, roberts, cubhert and Davies were giants of men and suited to his game plan but since they’ve moved on he’s really struggled.

2003 Wales were whitewashed.

They at least did put up a credible performance against Ireland that year only losing by a point when Stephen Jones and Ronan O’Gara traded late drop goals as they would later do in 2009, a performance which was the first stirring of a revival in Welsh rugby.
