Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

Would any of the rural clubs be at this level at underage ???

Abbeyside maybe but not exactly rural.

The all conquering Dungarvan sides from 2006-2008 won 3 in a row under 12s.

Motm in an u13 game. Wtf like?

Abbey side are now the second biggest club in Waterford. Lot of clubs in the far west are struggling with numbers at underage. Lismore still strong at underage but strangely lose a few as they go up the years.

Tourin and the Fives joining with cappoquin could form another strong club out there but the west junior championship is a big deal.

Huh?

They are joined at underage. It will probably happen eventually but Tourin will want to stay on their own for as long as possible. Great history there.

Better tradition than Cappoquin in fairness.

The three Bennett brothers with their father Pat on their first trip to Thurles, a 2003 Munster Championship win over Limerick.

Limerick the opposition again tomorrow as the three brothers all line out for the first time together for Waterford in Croke Park.

Paul Flynn scored the only goal and took his helmet off in front of the limerick crowd on the terrace in celebration, the bast*rd.

Good photo all the same, some going for the one family.

The father was a fine player too.

No surprise, you gotta have pedigree if you’re producing 3 young fellas like that.

Was the father involved during Davy’s time down there?

He was and was with LIT too

Ye should be standing him to stud down there. Vials of semen handed out to the women of Waterford

Waterford may find a few bigger fellows. What they have there now doesn’t come close to the benchmark of what’s needed to win an All Ireland in hurling now. Prunty, Callum Lyons and Austin probably the only three really with that size and heft. The rest looked more like a minor team lining out against a senior team and Dessie more like an U12.

TDB and Daly will improve them. Might allow Lyons to play midfield with Barron presuming SB stays as a back.

Mikey Kiely is a big mobile boy that can hurl. They’d a couple of nice u20s but no special talent that will make an instant impact.

Think Nolan is a better keeper. They lack wrists with the exception of Aussie. Letting him play at 11 and SB inside may help. Long way back.

Is the father the lad that complained about a ref after a club game basically because he wasn’t from a hurling county ?

Was that a junior all ireland final? Wasn’t there some controversy over a young lad just out of under 16 playing in it

He is involved with the Bridge this year I believe

Was there a bit of an altercation between Cahill and Bennett at the first water break? Just heard mention of it there now, apparently it was shown but not commented on on the Sunday game. cc @Fagan_ODowd
