Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

Donā€™t think centre back was ever the place for him. I donā€™t think he had the discipline for it, and he could do so much more in the forwards than at wing back. Even when he was left up in the forwards he was often playing some sort of withdrawn role between lines in Waterfordā€™s system. Heā€™d have benefited from something more simple Iā€™d have thought. Centre forward.

Even inside forward. If you look at how the game is played now itā€™s probably the one place where one-to-one duels take place. No back would like to be isolated on him

Jesus couldnā€™t manage that group of players ffs

the style of play isnt condusive to getting the best out of them

Word on the street is there is 10 players from last years panel no longer required. It has irked some of the players that Davy didnā€™t tell any of them and it was members of the back room team rang them to tell them.
10 players along with some of the lads leaving is a huge turnover. We have no where near the depth to cover that amount.

Tough days ahead unfortunately

Davy is going with the ā€˜new project/3 year plan approachā€™. If he goes out with the same players and fails again in year 2, he has nowhere to goā€¦so he is taking it apart.

Donā€™t think Waterford have won a Championship match at U20/U21 since the All Ireland Final of 2016. Thatā€™s very suggestive of thin resources.

It looks an utter shambles. Bottom line from Day 1, hardly anybody in Waterford bar Pat Flynn and a few on the County Board wanted Davy.

42 in a row for Ballymacarbry in the Waterford Ladies Senior Football Championship today. A 1-9 to 0-10 extra time win over Comeragh Rangers.

With Ken, Dan and Moran over the u20s and presumably all of the better players going to be on the senior panel and unavailable to train for the u20s, itā€™s hard to imagine the u20 managment team achieving much and Iā€™d fully expect plenty of sniping between the u20 and senior management teams to be played out in public.

For a team that has won 42 In a row thatā€™s almost a strange scoreline, Iā€™d of just presumed they were just coasting every year with no proper opposition. Do teams actually run them close? which would make the run way more impressive.

All Empires Fallā€¦

Donā€™t remember this fella on the Waterford panel. Did he get much game?

Very little bar a few league appearances iirc.

Excellent dual player with An Rinn over the last decade, very quick.

Came on for the last 20 minutes of the Munster Championship drawn game against Cork in 2014. Think that was it for him as far as championship hurling went.

Heard today that the Waterford footballers are considering doing a Kilkenny on it next year and not fielding at senior level at all? No expressions of interest in the senior management job. Worrying times for a county who beat Wexford in league and championship in recent years and got within a point of Galway in the 2013 qualifiers.

that really would be bad and sad news

any chance Jackson Kiely ( may have his name wrong) would come back or Michael Ryan would have a go at it

They need Big Tom McGlinchey to come in and steady the ship.

Split season effectively killing off Gaelic Football as a pastime in another county.
