They came down to Laois a few year back, played half the county. Incredible.
The kids are usually very good as well.
6 buses in Mount Sion they had.
Was on the pitch afterwards with my own kids for a few pucks and there was a heap of kids with Kilmacud tops out there as well, not an ounce of hassle from any of them.
Dug it out in the end. Strong performance in the second quarter with some excellent scores from the bennets, Dessie and Mark Fitz - really scruffy goal from a mishit free gave Dublin an undeserved lead at half time. We allowed Dublin a bit too much time in the half back line 2nd half, hit too many balls on top of Crummy, lacked ariel ability and left Dublin play out too easy. Brian Hayes broke the line a couple of times with one of them ending up in the back of the net. It wasnât til then a bit of fight and urgency came into the Waterford play. Didnât see Cian Sullivan tackle but Sean Currie should definitely have saw red. Bench made a massive impact - Jack Prender was lively after getting dropped they donât seem to know where to play him. Darragh Lyons is a class act to have back, Gavin Fives impressed again going forward and Curran finished his chances well. The Ballygunner trio of Leavey, Sheehan & Mahony werenât impressive. Paudie Fitz is just a lot more impactful off the bench. Mark Fitz was strong again but heâs not a really conventional 6 he loves to gallop up the field which leaves us exposed at times. Wing back would be ideal for him. Bar Dessie and Stevie B upfront we looked a bit toothless at times. Barron looked tired and should be rested next week thereâs no need for him to flogged either. I wasnât gone on Conor Ryan the last couple of years but heâs done nothing wrong the last three days.
Waterford lacking size down the the centre of the forward line. They really need to restore Kiely to the forwards. Thought Kieran Bennett went pretty well on the middle.
Jamsie OâConnor fairly sweet on Waterfordâs prospects this Summer on OTB last week, liked them v Antrim and have a few players to come back, Munster a bearpit as usual this Summer, could see Tipp in 5th again I reckon
Tipp and Waterford will be improved on last year and I think all three of Clare Waterford and Limerick have vulnerabilities. I wouldnât be surprised if one of Tipp or Waterford were to get to the A/I series.
I liked the cut of Clareâs jib yesterday, theyâve found a few more to step up in OâDonnellâs absence
Expand on that now?
The current Cork hurling coach is part of the new review panel for Waterford hurling structures going forward.
I know.
Is he not a Waterford man though?
Coached the Boro in KK the last few years too
From Cappoquin is Donal.
He played for Sars when he was working down there. Thatâs where the probable confusion came from.
Yeah he started out with the Waterford camĂłgs. Was over DLS when they got to a county final a couple of years ago. Good to have him involved heâll hopefully be involved in a coaching capacity at some stage in the not too distant future.
Keeper and FB aside, that is a very physically little team
Ya heading up to it?
