1-12 out of 1:13 he got .
Ballygunner with the 4 in a row.
Theyâll be like Crossmaglen in Waterford yet.

He is an excellent talent alright.
That Abbeyside team probably should have won it tonight. Played well, won plenty of ball and moved it well but there shooting / wides killed them.
First half Abbeyside were taking potshots from out the field and didnât get much return. Much more disciplined in 2nd half and I felt we were on top. Disappointed for the lads obviously, but Jesus young Fitzgerald is some talent.
Thatâs a very good team ye have. They can be proud of their effort. Itâs a shame ye never pulled level or got ahead at any stage In that second half as it would have been interesting to see how Ballygunner responded.
Yeah itâs a good bunch alright. Hopefully a few of them will make the step up. In fairness to Ballygunner they had their homework done and handled our main scoring threat superbly in the 1st half.
Câest la vie though, plenty of positives to take from the game.
Ballygunner beat Lismore by 18 points in the first of the semi finals. A procession to 7 in a row.

The Waterford championship mustnât be that strongâŚ
How many did Dan the Man get?
Ballygunner are just very, very good.
Iâm actually surprised how professional theyâve been this season given thereâs no real incentive in another county final win for them.
Theyâre havenât proved too hectic when they get out of Waterford. For a team that has dominated to such an extent in Waterford, donât think their contribution to the county team over the last decade has been that great either.
They win fuck all in Munster
Their journey is very like the Thurles Sars team of the 2010s. Look unbeatable in Tipp and then beaten by not unbelievable teams outside the county
I think you are being harsh there.
The Borrisileigh defeat was one which they probably left behind.
From 2017-2019, they beat Thurles Sars, Na Piarsaigh, Ballyea, Midleton, Sixmilebridge x 2, and Patrickswell in Munster. To win seven games in 3 seasons in the Munster club and only have one title is quite unfortunate.
They ran into a very good Na Piarsaigh team in the final in 2015 missing Mahony x2. 2016 they lost to Thurles by a point in Semple Stadium.
2014 to Cratloe was a bit of a fuck up but they were down to 14 men in that for a bit.
Bit of a soft townie under belly.
Thurles Sars had all Ireland winners , all stars and a HOTY . I always got the impression they werenât overly fussed about it then again maybe not . Club hurling is a funny game , often wet pitches , cold air , often away from home , one off game with no back door etc .
Munster clubs have won 4 of the last 32 Club All Irelands and 3 of those final wins were over Antrim clubs. Munster Club hurling would seem to be a lot weaker than Leinster and Galway Club hurling.
Thurles were always obsessed with the Munster Club. It was never a case of not bothering.
The Ballyea and Kilcormac games will always stand out and theyâll probably take those two to the graves with them.
Outside of that you could argue they were unlucky at times, like they lost to a good Newtownshandrum team by a point in 2009, De La Salle 2010, again a point.
2012 Kilcormac
2014, they had a man sent off at the throw in vs Cratloe.
2015, had a tragedy in build up to the Na Piarsaigh game.
2016, Ballyea
2017, beaten away to Ballygunner AET.
I donât like the way high profile club teams get labelled as âsoftâ or âbottlersâ just because they donât win Munsters and All Irelandâs every second year.
It takes a lot of effort and ability to be even turning up on cold, wet November Sundayâs year in, year out.
Ballygunner were poor though against both Borrisoleigh last year and Shamrocks the year before. A procession through Waterford every year doesnât do them any favours outside of the county.
The size of Ballygunner and the pick they have is a problem in the city and county at large in Waterford. Theyâre hoovering up in just about every grade underage, every year now. There was seemingly about 200 pupils in Ballygunner 25 years ago. Between St Marys and the Gaelscoil, thereâs over 1,000 pupils in Ballygunner now.
