I hear Waterford weren’t impressed with the state of the pitch at the weekend.

Ball not hopping properly.

I’ll be at the front of the upper tier in the South Stand section 305, guys.

Not a hotel or hostel to be got online in Cork for Saturday night.

The game is on Sunday

I know that.

Waterford never feared Wexford and Wexford never feared Waterford so it has all the makings of a classic.

Was the 2003 game the first time Wex and Deise met in the championship and is there are land border ?

Yes it was and no there is no land border

What is the rule about having a land border?

The Wexford/Waterford frontier is similar to Down/Louth and Kerry/Clare in that there is an inlet of the sea/river estuary between the two, with no bridge.

If there was a bridge, would that then constitute a border?

Some counties are entirely separated by a body of water but would be deemed to border each other due to the existence of a bridge, ie. Clare and Tipperary.

I’m pretty sure if you drive from Carlingford to Newry via Omeath you pass a land border between Louth and Down.

It’s 2-2 (two-two) in championship meetings between the counties.

Wexford with Nowlan Park qualifier victories in 2003 and 2014.

Waterford with Thurles quarter final wins in 2008 and 2016.

Rory Mc with some confidence building for Conor McDonald in the indo.

Great article in The People about Wexford’s semi final in 1976 against Galway in Cork. Remembering Liam Bennett,Christy Keogh and Tom Walsh RIP Cloughbawn’s finest.

Christy Keogh wasn’t far off getting us to next level in mid-90s.
1993 a yr full of regrets.

Eamon fucking Morrissey.

If ye had the sense to put the ball out of play Morrissey wouldn’t have mattered a fuck.

Having sense has always been an issue for us with the exception of 1996 - thank God for Liam Griffin.
