Wearing of facemasks. Yay, or Nay?

Other countries have mandated the wearing of facemasks in certain situations, and we may see the same here. I’m interested to gauge the views of the forum on facemasks. Yay, or nay?

  • Yes, a cloth mask
  • Yes, a N95 mask
  • No

We were all supplied with masks for work and were told we must wear them in store. Hard to police I know but still

Nay, id rather take my chances.

Most of those masks that people are wearing don’t work sure.

I haven’t stopped wearing mine , too bloody afraid, obviously can’t while painting, but always in the shops and park

Yes for a while anyway if it means opening everything up completely in the next few weeks. No if they continue the current line of half arsed shit they are peddling.

Don’t know TBH, but I err on the side of caution

So the majority says nay.

Unless you are sick, a health care worker, or caring for someone who has COVID-19, medical masks (including surgical face masks and N95s) are not recommended.

Under no circumstances

I will not be dictated to by the Who, they haven’t released a good song in 50 years ffs, and they were scared shitless of China.

I saw a fella the other day wearing a mask over his mouth, but under his nose. So assuming the mask is catching outside germs, they were efficiently being stored by the mask right under his nose. Just incase he didn’t breath them in first time

Obviously there’s many other factors as to why SE Asian countries have done so well, but wearing a face mask if you are sick is standard practice in Asian countries for decades. It’s mandatory here going into stores, you get used to it very quickly.

I wore a mask for first time on a trip to Dunnes this evening.

50/50 mask wearers there.

If lads want to OIUTF we have to be seen to follow the guidance.

Masks were no good even in supermarkets two months ago when the virus was rampant.

Now their essential when the thing is effectively over :man_shrugging:

If we want to get to 1m social distancing instead of 2m then masks would help.

It’s all a bit of a cod and nobody really knows but other countries that have opened and have less social distancing have mandated masks.

I voted no because I don’t know the first thing about using them in a hygienic way and would probably end up giving myself the virus

Any expert worth it’s salt knows face masks do more harm than good. In fact if you are wearing now you could easily be accused of manslaughter.

The scientists just can’t accept it’s fizzling out.

Has one scientist come out and admitted they’ve got it horribly wrong? Science is some joke.

You can’t catch it off yourself
