How are plans for your big day going mate?

He sounds a bit tetchy tbf.

Back in them days a lad wasn’t interested in staying in the residents bar till 6am roaring yahooing like a maniac,he wanted his iron asap.

Very Irish conversation at the weekend, one of the lads rings me before a wedding we were attending;

You driving to the wedding?
I am.
Can I get a lift?
You can no bother, I said, but I’m doing a prayer of the faithful so I’ll have to be on time.
Ah fuck that, I’ll ask someone else, sound.

That was an English conversation you had with your friend pal (imaginary) I’m getting the feel this DNH.

If I was making up a story, I’d like to think, I’d come up with a much better one

A church ceremony is fairly twee these days.

Not amongst us roasters it’s not. I’ll have put down 8 weddings by the end of the year. 5/7 so far have had a church only 2 couples who are going to hell. Not sure about the last one yet, but I’d imagine it’ll be 6/8

Last 4 I have been to has been no church. 3 of those were couples who lived in Dublin but from outside it. Those humanist celebrants are doing well I believe. They could do 3 or 4 a week. 600 euro a pop.

Ya it’s certainly becoming more common anyway. A lot of the east coast weddings on herselfs side have been hippy weddings

Fuck the Church.

Heard on the radio today that only 60% of weddings in Ireland are religious ceremonies. We skipped the church ourselves but most of the people I know from home have all gone with the church

Skipped it myself.

We prayed for you anyway.
