They won a county title with their clubs but then they were out 5 weeks later with the county in championship?
That could easily have happened in Monaghan under Banty. Back during Banty’s first reign Dessie Mone was dropped for month because he had a complementary glass of wine at a Croke Park function that he attended.

Yeah thats about right. Was just about to say that. Na Gaeil and Austin Stacks won Junior and Senior back in May as well. Incidentally Na Gaeil dont have a bad team for a junior football with both Jack Barry and Diarmuid O Connor midfield for them. That midfield would be better than 90% of intercounty sides midfield. Templenoe an intermediate side down in Kerry would probably beat Commercials and win the Tipp senior club football championship.

It’s because their club championship is weighted so that the big clubs stay at the top. Kerry should be barred from entering teams in the AI series at intermediate and junior level until such time as they open the senior ranks to more clubs.
