Hurling relegation final postponed

Monday, 27 July 2009 16:35

The GAA have confirmed that in light of the Disputes Resolution Authority decision in respect of relegation from the Liam MacCarthy Cup, the relegation final between Antrim and Wexford, scheduled for next weekend, has been postponed.

It is expected that the matter will now receive the consideration of Central Council at its next meeting on 22 August when proposals in respect of the 2010 GAA Hurling Championships will be discussed.

Sounds genius to me. The GAA hosted 2 games over the weekend, and charged into them, for no reason whatsoever.

Ingenius. However once the affluent county’d of Clare and Offaly bowed out they realised the shocking poor support from the two remaining counties would see them lose money and abandonned the concept.

whats the rule in gaa with regard clash of jerseys?..clare and wexford both wore their 2nd jerseys and i rememeber tyrone and monaghan both wearing their 2nd strip when they clashed…but i also remmeber kerry and mayo playing and only mayo changing…

Both teams change in GAA.

Mayo and Kerry werent to change because there wasn’t techincally a clash in their opinions.

Kildare and Tyrone will change this weekend.

Great post:clap:

He was John mullane-esq, Mac

Held scoreless for most of the game and ran around with a big red head on him???

Well lads seeing that the intercounty season is over for us, what do you think of next season ?

We were under serious preasure this year because of injurys and division 2status, but we did get a few of last years minors involved and the continued improvement of Banville while he was well is a big plus. Also the new players (when fit) seem to have brought a bit of size into the team which was baddly needed.

Team for next year

An other ??

Trav,
Roche,
Moore,

Stamp,
Rossi,
R. Kehoe

Gizzy,
Eoin,

Shore,
Walters,
Doran,

R, Jacob,
Banville,
Lambert ???

Would love to find a big fullback, and see that half forward line develop. If they did, we could go with 2 big lads in the HF line and we would be able to fit a ball player in there.

We need to get a few more of last years minor team involved and maybe a few of this years (any candidates ?), division 2 would not be a bad place to start them.

If all were fit and d2 hurling did not slow us down we will be hard bet next year.

Cookie

It’s difficult to see Shore being involved next year given how this year turned out for him.

Best of luck to Monageer-Boolavogue in this afternoon’s county junior football quarter final against Clonard.

Have Wexford been relegated to the Christy Ring yet?

Not yet but I’ll let you know if it happens.

Clonard beaten by 2 points and they missed a penalty in the last 5 minutes too.

Ah lovely.

Ah it’s mind boggling.

Yeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss!

You may PM me to explain!

cookie, I’m obviously not speaking about anyone in particular but the following is rather silly:

  • Turning up visibly drunk for training on the Sunday morning 7 days before the Leinster semi-final against Dublin.
  • Whining about being dropped because of it and then going on the piss again.
  • Deciding to play 5-a-side soccer during the week of the game and going over on your ankle.
  • Pretending that you hurt the ankle in the gym to avoid a rollicking.
  • Arranging to have it put in plaster and claiming that it was broken, even though it wasn’t, and going on the piss some more.
  • Leaving the panel.

The clown.
What was the story going over on his ankle in the U21 then?

Pikeman, we are obviously not speaking about anyone in particular. If some one did such a thing then they would be a clown etc etc.

Faythe Harriers lost to the Rapps today. Not lovely.

relegation group for them now is it…

The Rapps were a crazy price to win that too. Think your crowd were something like 1/8 or somethin. Is that lad Ollie O’Connor still playing for them or has he moved on?
