CLUB FORUM

A major review is currently being undertaken, to assess the current standing of GAA in Wexford, and to draft a blueprint for the coming five years.

Six separate groups are currently examining all existing structures with a view to changing the structures that arent working and introducing new structures to improve and strengthen the GAA county wide.

To assist these groups in their work, and with the hands on assistance of Coke Park a Club Forum is being organised for September 28th next at a venue to be finalised. This forum will attempt to cover as many areas of the association as possible with absolutely ALL areas up for positive discussion.

Following the Forum, a Plan will be formulated to map the progress of the GAA in Wexford until 2015.

We need 6 forward thinking and progressive Representatives from all clubs to attend. The 6 should include a Senior Officer, a Bord na nOg Officer, an active Coach, an adult player and two others, preferably from either end of the clubs age spectrum. (At least one of the delegates should be female.)

Everyone is welcome to express their opinion and suggest the best course forward.

The Review Steering Committe is chaired by Pat Doyle (HWH Bunclody)

i see on hoganstand.com/wexford that rathnure has been made the final 4 in best club under the sun and can be voted for on http://www.etihadgaa.ie/entriesSelected.php?entry_id=119

Sarsfields 2-9 Gusserane 0-11.

Yes.

I suppose the only way to bring about some change is for all clubs to participate in this club forum that Pikeman posted about.

Still, it’s pretty amusing that these initiatives to review where we’re going wrong and to put structures in place to improve matters are being facilitated by the same clowns who’ve overseen our position getting progressively worse each year.

I don’t know, it’s probably cynical enough but I reckon this is going to be a token gesture to give people the impression their views are being listened to and it’s also a nice opportunity for the county board to be able to share the blame among everyone going forward by pointing out that the ‘club forum’ decided this and that.

That’s the fear I’d have also. No doubt it’s a positive that something like this is taking place but they had to wait for one of the worst years in Wexford GAA to realise it and get off their holes. County has been crying out for some forward thinking and ideas for years now.
It shouldn’t do any harm and is better than nothing.

was the game above in the b championship bandage. If so it’s some comedown for gusserane compared to last year

Yes, it was the prestigous B championship. Much like the Europa League being more important than the Champions league this season, the B championship is the one to win in Wexford this year.

Kilanerin relinquished their senior football title this afternoon - Shelmaliers defeated them by 3 points after extra time in Wexford Park. Haven’t got any of the other results yet.

some interesting results across all the games. just shows the openess of the championship that last years senior finalists are already out.

Really didnt hear about the betting patterns, whats the story.
was in New Ross yesterday and hogues were very unlucky. Bannow got a point in the 1st half that everyone on the stand side or town side of the pitch agreed was at least 2 foot wide of the post. Also the hogues missed a free with a few minutes to go to put them one point up and then missed a free right at the death to level the game.

However i think we may have seen this years county champs in the 2nd match, Horeswood looked really impressive with Clongeen having no answer to PJ Banville in particular. Shels mays stop them but can see Bannow or the Annes stopping them.
