I heard Stephen Banville destroyed Doc OāConnor in the midfield exchanges in the Shels/Anneās match.
Fair play to the butch bitches on winning both titles today. The intermediates defeated Antrim by 2-11 to 0-10 in the Division 2 final, while the seniors beat Tipperary by 2-12 to 0-11 in the Division 1 final.
Una Leacy scored 2-2 - the first goal was a dinger of a strike but the second one was an absolute cracker. Kate Kelly scored 0-7 (0-4F, 0-1 45) and is quite the skillful operator. They were well on top throughout the first half but only scored the goals late on to lead 2-6 to 0-5 at half time.
Tipperary exerted more pressure in the second half but Wexford defended well and never let the lead get lower than 5 points. Aoife OāConnor had delayed her honeymoon after marrying Skippy Ruth last week and she collected the trophy as captain.
It still couldnāt be considered a sport but they did very well all the same. Well done ladies.
PS, Tipperary had the fattest substitute Iāve ever seen.
I see Bandageās team Sarsfields got destroyed by a 14 man Ballyhogue in this evenings senior football championship
Ballyhogue 1-6 Sarsfileds 0-8
Great day for the little parish eh padjo?
Iād say the bonefires are alight in Bree as i type
A bit of a shock here with Mattyās boys only drawing
Kilanerin 1-9 1-9 Rapparees Starlights
Lookin like its between Ballyhogue and Duffry for the championship now;)

Not actually messing for once, but it might be worth having a gander at Sunday Sport on RTE 2 at 8pm tonight to see the goals Una Leacy scored for the camogie team yesterday. I spotted Marty Morrissey floating around Parnell Park and the TV cameras were there.
Second one was a cross from near the right endline back over to to the far side of the goal on about the 14 yard line. It looked like it was going over both herās and the Tipp defenderās heads and the latter kind of gambled on that happening and edged in front to chase it out towards the sideline.
But Leacy stuck up the hurley and controlled it and took it down in one movement and found herself inside the defender. She then immediately drilled it into the roof of the net. 'twas actually class and very unlady like.

very tight results in the majority of games over the weekend, again, another close championship ahead with no clear favorite again.

Along with Shane Roche who is already there, Ncc will be delighted with this news
big blow to Castletown all the same
Any interest in the minor hurlers?, playing the Dubs on Saturday, think i might head along to Parnell park to watch it, whats the team like?

And the trickle that Kev and I campaigned against is now a stream. How many Dublin club players are now lining out inter county senior for Wexford?

3 in football now that I can make out KIB, and one in hurling. Altho not sure about starting places, theyād all be on the panel. Dont know Kinsellas reasons for it, but would seem strange really seeing as Castletown is the most northerly club in Wexford. Heād been playing league games for them this year too.
Shane Roche had tried to move from a junior club to a senior club, but it was obvious he was only doing it to be at a bigger club. It was refused by the Wexford board, so he transferred to Dublin.
i presume kinsella didnt line out at the weekend for castletown so can any confirm or will we have to wait for the papers to come out tomorrow
Kinsella is a long way off fitness any time Iāve seen him this year. I wouldnāt say heāll be starting for us in the championship regardless. Not sure where heās based or working.

This will be his third club, he used to play with Gorey but transferred to Castletown as they were a more football oriented club. I have no time for this mercenary type behavior, goes against the whole ethos of the GAA.
