Was Carton our first choice keeper last season? I can’t even remember such was my bewilderment at things under the previous regime.

I’m getting quite shown up here. Must have been 2009 then when Limerick beat us in a rain-drenched Wexford Park.

Yes it was. It was the scabs who were hurling for Limerick in 2010 and they were beaten by Offaly

Just another thing, Dunne clarified his comments from a couple of months back about retirements within that article too. I was right (as per usual) at the time when I said he wasn’t necessarily referring to age. He was basically saying ‘fuck off if you’re not willing to put in the required commitment’ and it wasn’t necessarily directed to the experienced players only. Also good that he’s keeping the squad open both to motivate those in it to maintain standards and those out of it to keep working hard to get in.
