count is very, very testy today.
There’s a lot of testiness all around the forum today.
I know. I am testy. There was no need to have a pop at count of monte cristo there yet I still did.
I think the reason is the lack support I got on the ‘Simon Cox is rubbish’ angle I pursuing on the Ireland Faroe thread.
Dublin Team:
Maguire,
Corcoran, Kelly, Schutte,
M Carton, Rushe, Durkin,
McCaffrey, Boland,
McCormack, O’Dwyer, Sutcliffe,
O’Callaghan, Keaney, Treacy.
I’m wondering if Wexford will line out as selected in the hurling. I think there’s county board fines and shit for not doing so these days but, if I recall correctly, Dunne has had a tendency to spring a surprise or two. Whatever about that, I hope we have our defensive match ups selected carefully. It was really frustrating in Tullamore last year to see us leave the championship debutant Willie Devereux on Shane Dooley instead of Rossiter. The Dublin forwards gave us all sorts of trouble in the league so we need to have learned our lessons. We need to very sharp to combat what they’re doing - in fairness we have a number of backs who can operate in either defensive line too.

One doubt from Wexford team named in football.
Anyone going to Drogheda?

getting split open in the hurling not recovered?
no now that you mention it, but that coupld probably happen, at least there’s cover in the football to an extent with tierney and wadding on the bench.
We have a very quick full back lin in chin, molloy and furlong with both chin and molloy qutie good in the air. so hopefully we can keep them out…

I’ll be going to Drogheda and I understand Monkey Allen shall be in attendance also.
Capacity is 3,500 apparently - I’m hearing stories of Louth clubs directly contacting Wexford clubs looking for returned tickets.
Iw ll be in attednace as will that cunt croppy_boy…tickets were rpocired in wex pk should be good atmosphere…

Did you read that in the briar’s preview’s of the footballer’s and hurler’s?
I wouldn’t really trust his fact’s.

You should have used “wouldnt” there as a reverse ball hop.
But, no, I heard from a knowledgeable GAA man.
Won’t be able to make it on Sunday, first championship game I’ve missed in ages. I’m guessing the team won’t line out as named. I’d agree with Bandage that we need a few more dirty ball winners in the forwards, and I thought Paddy Byrne might start as he’d add a bit of height to a very small half forward line. As for the hurlers, I’ll be heading down to Wexford Park on Saturday more in hope than expectation.
Count could you send us PM about the team change? Thanks
I’m confident enough about Sunday’s game and would be very happy with the starting 15, although there is some doubt about one or two of those players being fit enough to start.
I’ve always agreed with Bandage on our forwards - in the past we’ve had too many “go to” players in the forwards and not enough workers. Andy Doyle isn’t exactly a Paul Flynn or Paul Galvin type wing forward but he should at least get in tackles, pick up breaks and do the simple things when in possession.
Michael Furlong is a good addition to the defence too. He has been one of the best man markers in club football for the last few years and we have been lacking a tight corner back for a few years now.
My main worry for Sunday is that we could have another Hillsborough. There are a lot of complaints in Louth about lack of tickets and this could lead to thousands of ticket-less fans storming the gates. I don’t know why the Leinster Council fixed the most eagerly anticipated clash of the summer for a venue with such a limited capacity.

I’ve just given “agreed” ratings to the posts from Monkey and padjo as they have both agreed with a point I’ve made.

padjo – good to hear from you on this thread again pal. If only we could tempt Pikeman and cailinlochgarman back.
Pikemen left? When?
I think they should open up Drogheda United’s ground and use it as an overspill area on Sunday.
