Wexford GAA 2014

No, his cousin.

Shane has never been the same since the battering he got at a White collar boxing event for his native club.

Shane is an absolute gent but tended to get a bit tetchy if losing. What is he at at all? Battered round the ring? Is there any precedent in hurling?

I think hes teaching in Wicklow, still plays hurling and football with his local team of Horeswood.

I was his opponent that night, so i may be looking at things from simply my (victorious) perspective.

You’ve asked that question before at least twice. I’m seething about it.

Jack Guiney back in the team for Sunday at FF.

The stage is set for the Purple and Gold to cement their recent improvements and turn over Queenstown & District in Flower Lodge on Sunday.

Wexford never feared Cork.

I think you may be referring to @chewy louie 's questions re Shane o’Hanlon in 2012 if i am not mistaken.

I might be wrong.

Wrong bandage? You ? Don’t be silly. I knew he had a cousin thereabouts from your invariably accurate posts, but his brother was on the squad when he was still fairly young and I thought he’d maybe come on. Shane must be more than twelve and a half stone, so that must have been a proper heavyweight clash. Nice to know its all white collar hurling down your neck of the woods.

Sounds like a polo match.

His brother is Michael, a fine hurler in his own right. Their Grandad would have played on the great wexford teams of the 50s, also named Michael, at corner back.

Shane is an outstanding hurler himself. Tough too. You must be as tough as an Oul boot count.

quite the opposite, im more of flair player…

just ask @Gman @Scrunchie @croppy_boy

Shane is also now sub keeper with the Wexford football team.

That fight with Count was an epic and probably the greatest sporting event to take place in Horeswood’s GAA grounds.

If only @countofmontecristo had a better view of it. His hands were blocking his face for 95% of the fight.

I still can’t quite get over the notion of the football goalie being the fat lad who was talented enough to play outfield but fond of the fags and the burgers. There are a few generously proportioned goalies kicking around the national leagues from what I see.

I guess it was @Bandage who changed that for keepers and showed that if they get in shape they can achieve so much more.

Wexford’s two keepers aren’t even really goalkeepers. First choice Shane Roche hasn’t played there in years and Shane O’Hanlon plays outfield for the club and didn’t play in goal much until a few years ago.

Shane Roche was capped for ireland under age as a keeper.

But he has rarely played in goal in Gaelic Football.
