Wexford GAA 2014

1-15 to 1-13. Point by Tubritt of Fethard.

Full Time: Wexford 1-15 Longford 1-13.

They went in front but we scored the last 3 points through Lyng (2) and Tubritt.

1-5 for Lyng.

Longford are our championship bitches. Beat them after a replay in 2012, beat them after extra time in the qualifiers in Pearse Park last year and now another victory up there today.

Should be an excellent Leinster semi final between us mate.

Is John Tubritt any relation to Philip Tubritt? I think the latter was briefly on the Wexford panel in the late 1990s/early 2000s until Ger Halligan deemed him not good enough.

Ah Carrick is only 25 mins away so it’s a handy spin and think it should be close and competitive.

Sure I’ll prob head for the Hyde on Sunday aswell[/QUOTE]

best of luck with that pal

First cousins

You sure about that? Don’t want to correct you twice in as many days

110% certain

Definitely 110%? John was on the U21 team this year and Philip would probably be 40 now. Is John not his son?

I have no idea

Dave McIntyre of Newstalk stated in commentary that Tubritt scored this point. I didn’t see The Sunday Game but most newspaper reports today have Michael O’Regan down as the scorer. Can anybody clarify?

Regan scored. Tubritt gave him the pass.

Philip Tubritt? i think he packed in football when defeated by St. James in the 2002 senior football championship*.

*Yes we played senior.

Waterford’s young side falling flat yesterday has checked my optimism ahead of Saturday somewhat. I still think we’ll defeat Dublin relatively comfortably but I don’t think it’ll be the annihilation I was anticipating up to now. Does anybody know Eoin Moore’s injury status or will we have to wait for Brendan Furlong in tomorrow’s Wexford People?

Dublin will look up and then slowly Wexford will come to the brim of the hill surrounding them like Indians in the old Cowboys and Indians movies before charging down the hill whooping and hollering.

Not literally but figuratively. An old fashioned ambush.

This isn’t an ambush. This has been well flagged. Myself and @Bandage have been saying it for weeks. They’ll know too because Anthony Daly (Hi Dalo!) is a regular vistor to this forum.

@farmerinthecity Loughnane took over when JC was 18, 2007 was Loughnane’s first season and this was JC’s first year out of minor.

I’d like to see a little half back line and midfield tweak if Moore’s available. I think Chin would benefit from being released into midfield. Possibly harsh on Harry Kehoe who’s hurling better this season but O’Keeffe is more dynamic and a bigger scoring threat. The half back line was relatively weak against Antrim but Redmond had a solid half when introduced and Moore is a very talented player.

Fanning;
Ryan, O’Hanlon, Rossiter;
Moore, Shore, Redmond;
Chin, O’Keeffe;
Morris, Doran, Guiney;
Jacob, McDonald, McGovern.

how many newspapers did you read today pal?
did you walk out of spar with a big pile of them under your arm?

They’re available on this new fangled invention called the Internet.

Obviously you haven’t heard of it.

It’s serious business.

3 newspaper sport sections online, pal. I should have made this distinction and it won’t happen again.
