Wexford GAA 2015
Read my post again - I know it wasn’t cship he played in UK but he was after playing cship already in Dublin and you can’t play in another ‘county’ league / competitions or cship after you have played cship in the first county.
You can play league / competitions in a county and then transfer and play cship in another county but not the other way around.
seems to be conflicting information over this so, as even TBC has said it was because he didnt wait the requisite 4 days after the transfer before playing.

He did not transfer in time. However the most important aspect here is that he was flying over to play in a match with a club that was not his own. He was not entitled to transfer as he does not meet the criteria required. ie he lives and works full time in Dublin and the club he played for are in the English midlands. He was in any case playing illegally the fact it was a technical issue he was caught on is irrelevant. Maybe he can come forward and tell us his motive for flying in. I doubt it was to develop games in Coventry.
It’s no more against the “ethos of the GAA” than loads of stuff that goes on, he just got tripped up on a technicality. Flying lads in, as we both know, is an esteemed tradition. I don’t like it any more than you do, but there are far greater breaches of the spirit of club competition that pass unmarked or are deemed acceptable as the i’s are dotted, and the t’s crossed.
It’ is grossly disproportionate. One could even argue that having him play was indeed a great promotion of the game for casements in particular who have always fielded a heap of young local lads, blade lowering little fuckers that some of them are
I don’t agree that flying players in is an major issue anymore. Some clubs push the book to the limit Flatty but most comply with the ethos of the GAA.

thats great, but that has nothing to do with the post I responded to. if he was going to be living full time there and could prove a postal address, would it have been possible for him to transfer and play in that tournament. and forget about the ethos and shite which has been done to death, a simple yes or no will do.

Yes

sound, thats all I was saying. As I was saying earlier, I dont agree with what he did either, but it seemed there was some confusion if he was actually eligible to play in that tournament or not, regardless of the living arrangements.

Some dopes involved here if they thought they couldn’t wait the minimum 4 days for the registration* to go through.

*cough

Some interesting decisions in that. Chin and Redmond probably excel more in midfield but we’re quite light in defensive options with Shore and O’Hanlon suspended and Liam Ryan apparently carrying a slight injury.

In turn, Morris and Sinnott are more comfortable playing in the forwards and one of them might switch with O’Keeffe. Mossy Waters is captain in O’Hanlon’s absence.

I thought Devitt might get a run in the half back line or midfield. Aidan Nolan will also be a good midfield option when he returns from injury (broken hand or finger).

I presume Dunne will give Daithi Waters a few games at centre forward to see if he’s a worthwhile option there. We also need to sort out centre back and I think he might try O’Hanlon there if Mossy Waters’ knee holds up. That would release Chin to midfield then.

Conor McDonald aims to be back for Round 3 at home to Limerick.

I’ll miss Sunday’s game as I’m at a wedding this weekend.

Find it hard to believe a place in the final 30 couldn’t be made for Andrew Kenny especially with Rossitar retired and Shore suspended.

Ah bandage me Oul mucker. It must be nearly that time of year again when I ask whether Matt o Hanlon is related to Shane o Hanlon.

Cousin, Matt plays for St James’s and Shane for Horeswood.

I feel I had to make an appearance here to voice my annoyance at the utterly foolish behavior of the gaa brass in handing out 48 week bans. Backwards the association is going.

What would you have done with him Petey?

It’s totally disproportionate for such a petty thing. I would have let it go were it me who made these decisions. These rules regarding this area are 19th centuryesque and should done away with. Players should be allow play whatever sport they want whenever they feel like it. A stupid mess really.

Over and out.

He can play any other sport he wants Petey, and he has plenty of time to do so now too.

I heard a rumour that he will play for Warwickshire cricketers this year. Its always been an ambition of his. Warwickshire to the backbone

Go way outta that. Sure we’d all be Marxist, Trotskyist, anarchists if that was the case.
