Wexford GAA 2015

How did the two Mary’s men get on ?

Dirty stroke given taken given taken etc etc. Both men sent off.

Flood showed well for the ball. Hard to say with carty as all of wexfords kick outs went to the other side of the pith to paddy byte so it was difficult for him to get into it. He worked hard in defence.

I’m glad to see Simon Donohue involved. I was concerned when I saw he lined out for the senior footballers recently. I think he’s a very promising player.

Wexford hurler Andrew Shore will have his appeal against a 48-week suspension handed down by Warwickshire GAA heard on January 24.
Shore was hit by the ban after playing for Birmingham club Roger Casements last October. But the former Davidstown-Courtnacuddy man, now playing with Parnells in Dublin, will travel to Newcastle for a hearing.
He believed all of the necessary documentation was in order for the weekend pass. Wexford manager Liam Dunne said: “I’m just hoping someone, somewhere along the line will allow some commonsense to prevail.”

There is no such thing as a weekend pass to play in the Uk. If you transfer to a club in Warwickshire it is governed by the same rules that you have to adhere to if transferring to a club in Clare, Cavan, Cork or anywhere else in Ireland

Does the Europe Authorisation form not govern it?

Nope. Warwickshire/British gaa is not part of the European Gaa board. British gaa is a provincial council of the Gaa, the same as Munster, Leinster etc and subject to the same rules regarding transfers

Ah yes, i get ya.

This confirms my previous opinion of the protagonist in this piece.

Let’s hope common sense can prevail and Andrew Shore can get back competing for a place in the Wexford half back line.

I would assume it will be downgraded to a 12 week ban to keep everyone happy.

Wexford hurlers defeated Cork IT last Saturday by 1-22 to 0-9 before losing to Tipperary the following day. The Wexford People reveals that Aidan Nolan suffered a broken hand against CIT. The team was:

Devitt, Sinnott, A Cash;
Barron, A Nolan;
Kelly, Tomkins, O’Keeffe;

Garrett Sinnott played in the unfamiliar position of centre back. O’Keeffe scored 1-3.

Suppose you can’t get me the CIT team Bandage.

No idea, sorry.

Just saw the interview with Liam “look it” Dunne there. As I mentioned previously, nothing really new or exciting about it (other than the gunshot at the start and end, WTF?). He sorta got into some of the new players, and spoke a bit about Daithi Waters, but it was the usual humdrum type stuff you’d always hear. If ye want to make it more attractive, it needs to have some sort of nugget that is an exclusive. Get the names of the players starting at the weekend, or at least ask. Who hasnt been back yet? Where is the biggest competition for places? What are his plans for Hanlon and Tomas Waters, etc. He may not answer any of them, or may not want to, but if its just the usual easy questions, then it will be the usual cliche interview.*

*noting you may not have had anything to do with said interview, just updating my thoughts on it thats all!

I hear Liam Ryan may not be playing this year. Started in the army and hasn’t been training.

On the plus side, a year in the Wicklow mountains might not be the worst thing for him in the long run. He needs a bit of physical building. Richie Kehoe needs to really stand up.

That would be quite a blow for us.

Losing Liam Ryan is at least somewhat offset by Waters returning. Would O’Hanlon be finally ready step into the role at 6 and release Moore back to the corner?
