Incredible drama in the last round of group games in the SFC last night. Forum favourites St. James getting through after out of contention Horeswood kicked the shit out of their close friends and neighbours Gussrane, last yearâs finalists.
Every kick covered on Wexford GAAâs Official Twitter account.
Poor Gusserane, youâd almost feel sorry for them. Cunts.
Maybe they should expand to include Saltmills in order to improve their chances for the Intermediate Championship in 2016. Iâm sure Fethard wouldnât mind.
the fact that it was losing by 8 points is what knocked them out must be the most galling. One point, or Horsewood to score one point less was all they needed to leapfrog the Jimmies.
Youâd have to imagine Horeswood will do enough to stay up against the Fintans, but stranger things have happened in relegation finals.
I doubt there will be too many outside of there crying about it anyway! From all accounts Horeswood were just happy to have finally played well, put in a performance and beat Gusserane. They didint know at the time that they knocked them out, so that was an added bonus to it all. Ye lose anyone from the juniors after last night?
Last round of the hurling this weekend. Senior games down for decision tomorrow. Cloughbawn had been tipped for a long time to be relegated, yet they lead group A and play the MArtins for the right to top the group. And Rathnure need to beat Glynn Barntown to avoid being in the relegation decider. Looks likely to be Martins, Cloughbawn, Glynn and St Annes to go through. Group B is tighter in the middle section. Shamrocks are in the relegation final, and if Oulart beat Ferns, it will sort out the top 4 of Oulart, Shels, Harriers and Buffers Alley.
Intermediate 1/4 finals are set as Askamore v Craanford, Oulart v Gorey, Oylegate v Bunclody, Crossabeg v Adamstown. If the relegation is as per senior, Duffry play Blackwater to see who goes down.
The south county clubs finished top in the intermediate A sections. Would be some craic if they both make it to the final! 1/4s here are St Jamesâ v Liam Mellows, Ballyfad v Buffers Alley, Monageer v Rathnure, Ladys Island v Fethard. Clongeen v Ross in relegation. Ross had a chance to stay up, but lost to St Pats, and Liam Mellows also got a win which pushed them up into the 1/4s. Fethard got a late equalizer against Rathnure to stay top of the group.
