Wexford GAA 2016

Wexford PRO and a couple of parents have said it, now all of that may be one source, but thats what they’ve been saying anyway

Now that we are back as a hurling force again I expect us to handle the rebels comfortable enough on Saturday evening. I feel we’ll have too much for them and will ease off towards the end saving ourselves for a potential showdown with Tipp.:smirk:

Today is the day. Just hope the wexford boys get stuck into Cork. We have nothing to lose pressure on cork and nobody is giving us a chance. Come on boys… get stuck in anything can happen today.

David Jennings in the Racing Post is giving ye a chance mate

The fact he can’t spell threat should be factored into his tipping though

And the fact that he thinks Mayo vs Fermanagh is on in Enniskillen

I’ve listened to him on the RP podcast as he’s often talking through his hole. Think he went through the card on Guineas day or something earlier in the flat season though, maybe Royal Ascot. Fairly sure he was all over Mayo at the start of the season too.

On the train down from Heuston with the Wexford Ultras.
A lusty rendition of “Kelly from Killane” is on the way.
No confidence of beating Cork, but we live in hope

Good - the satisfaction from beating those self centred, queen loving, stupid big hat wearing cunts.

Bad - this could give Dunne a reason to stay another year.

Great to see us stand up after the goal and kicked on. Great to see David Dunne start to take control of games like that. Draws some amount of fouls. Chin and Mac beginning to become the sides leaders. Cork might be shit, but I don’t care. We’d have crumbled in games like that before but today we didn’t.

Who do we get next? Hopefully those choking bastards.

That’s the sweep for David Jennings - what cunt was on here earlier doubting him?

well done @Mac @Bandage @Gman @Fran @Pikeman @Rocko and all the wexford based admin contingent
anyone who was forced to sit thru the 2004 all ireland semi v cork when wexford conceded 1-27 or something or when in 2007 the GAA played the KK wex an all ireland semi final as a curtain raiser to a cork waterford QF replay due to lack of public interest ( how insulting was that?) deserves a few pints tonight
i thought today was epic really, obviosuly didnt have the quality of the 2003 semi final first game but reminded me of the 1993 league final drawn game for intensity
i dont think any corkman will begrudge ye for a second

Congrats lads I’m genuinely delighted for Wexford hurling, ye should have won by more in the end missed two great goal chances.

Conor McDonald is a great bit of stuff.

Congrats chaps, and thanks for savings us the ignominy of yet another hammering at the hands of Galway/Waterford/Tipp.

Great to get the win yesterday. Beating Cork was especially sweet, but would have been delighted with win against anyone.

Chin and Mac are real driving force of the team.

Only one team wanted it in last 5 minutes.
Must the lowest wide tally in a long time by a Wexford team.

Any post-match Liam Dunne quotes doing the rounds, chaps?

Well done guys:clap:

Delighted with the win. To beat Cork in thurles is massive for us. That win is a real confidence boaster for this young team. Management deserve huge credit as well as the players. Chin mac Breen were very good and credit to moggie he was very quite but hit 2 super points at the end.

Lads when was the last time Wexford senior hurlers won a championship match in thurles? I remember when croker was been done up in the 90s the leinster semi finals were played there we beat laois or dublin. Was that our last championship win there?

2002 vs Dublin in the pissing rain

It really will be a clash of coaching cultures the next day. There was a good bit of talk before one of the various Waterford v Clare matches about how Waterford were in training on Christmas Day morning as part of an intensive Christmas holiday training schedule. I doubt Wexford had too many training sessions over the Christmas. They probably didn’t have too many over the Easter holidays either. Wasn’t it around Easter that Coach Dunne was away on a well deserved holiday in the sun?

Coach Dunne was away alright, but they trained without him being there.

They were also training over the Christmas break, but unlike media whores in Waterford and Clare, dont feel the need to publicise it as if it is some sort of ground breaking feat to be actually training when the majority of players would be off work. Whether the training was any good or not is another thing…
