Wexford GAA 2018

I think there should be severity to it tho, as to how dangerous it is. Dragging a player by the helmet or ripping it of is dangerous. A little pull or incidental contact isn’t. I think the severity of a red card is too much for the offence.

The process is a sham in so much as a player can get a suspension, appeal that decision within the county, then appeal that again within the provence then appeal it again to Croke park. It’s too much.

Be great achievement if Fethard win this with their home grown team.

Finished level. Probably should have seen it out tho, 6 points up at one stage. But then were a point down deep into injury time, so will take the draw. Good performance tho, completely written off everywhere, so did well. Could be the chance gone tho.

Gorey leading by 1-7 to 0-7 at half time.

Martins have been poor in this. In the bag for Gorey.

Gorey win 2-11 to 0-13.

Dunbar of course played a huge part

Congrats to Gorey, they got stuck into the Martin’s in the 2nd half and fully deserved there win. Nice to see new champions, it would be nice to see oylegate or Rapps win it next year.

Intermediate final was decent, it would have been nice to see Fetherd win it. Foley, Wallace and Jimmy Sutton are at least worth a look for county team. There’s talent in Wexford, Davy and co need to open there eyes.

Foley was in about the panel last year, the all Ireland run hindered any pre season shot he had with those games. Wallace is the other side of 30 now, too late in the game. Sutton didn’t get a look in at minor last year, was on the football team though. Hopefully gets in with the 20s this year. He looked like scoring and had heaps of space to work with, why he was taken off I’ll never know.

I didn’t know Wallace was nearly 30. You’d wonder have they lost there chance now. It will be interesting to see how Gorey go in Leinster, they have a decent enough draw v camross of Laois to be played in portlaoise on the 4th of November.

Already turned 30. Yeah you’d have to think that, it’s rare the underdogs get the win after the initial draw. Who knows tho, they played some great hurling today. Not being reliant on any one or two players is great.

“Gorey” lads too busy settling scores to enjoy their evening. Tweet has since been deleted.

They’re apparently making a show of themselves ‘on the town’

And retweeted by Dunbar too. If the suspension comes back and is upheld, it’ll make some farce of an already ridiculous disciplinary system.

Someone explain this ?

Guy on the right is Cathal Dunbar. He only transferred to Gorey 8 months ago (in controversial circumstances - Gorey are a neighbouring club to his old club).

He had been getting grief about the transfer. Some great analysis from @Gman above. Worth a read to get the full picture.

A lot of bitterness on Twitter in relation to Dunbar. First Ballgarret man ever to win a senior medal. You’d think the club would be proud of him. Gorey wouldn’t have won this without him that’s for sure.

Gorey were deserving winners. The Martin’s just never looked like winning it (except first 5 minutes). One of those days for them.

Great for a town team to win it. Looks like they’ll be competitive for a while.

A couple of decent defenders with Gorey that Davy will have a look at in Molloy and Cullen. Both big men too. Although Molloy was lucky to stay on the field after being a little over enthusiastic in the first 5 minutes.

I’ve no investment, pal. I just know of the goings on from some people I know in the area.

A codd?
