Wexford GAA 2022

bad alrigth.

Only noticed lately that Eanna Martin is no longer there, he seemed to be a doing a stand up job.

Yeah heā€™s been gone quite a while now. Maybe even a year or more. I recall they were advertising for someone to come on board ages ago but the role seemed to be more junior. Martin was Commerical Manager, and this role was Marketing Executive or some such. I donā€™t know if they ever filled it.

They never announced it, Iā€™ll find out tomorrow.

Seen John Kehoe from the town is the new head groundsman. Sound man, was head groundskeeper up the Wexford gc for years.

Cian Byrne appears to have dropped from the subs bench to accommodate David Dunne.

Iā€™d like to have seen Chin and Dunbar starting. Hopefully they still may do.

Good preview there @Bandage . Bottom line is Wexford have the better forwards and dublin have better backs. Though the absence of Liam Rushe, Dara Grey and Andy Dunphy the last day did weaken us defensively.

My main concern from a Dublin point of view is our forwards. Only for Donal Burke Laois would of beaten us. Ronan Hayes, Sutcluffe and trollier are all going poorly so we are overly dependent on Burke and an unproven Fergal Whitely for scores. The return of Rian McBride most likely at centre forward may help a little in this regard.

Im expecting a tight relatively low scoring game with Wexford shading it but we have 2 very unpredictable teams here so who the fuck knows

never a truer word spoken

Defense wins Championships

attack is the best form of defence

Absolutely sickening, 1-4 in placed balls left behind.

Frustrating to lose control of that rivalry again. We didnā€™t beat them for 10 years after the 2008 Leinster semi-final. The pendulum seemed to have swung in our favour under Davy.

I presume Jack O Connor and Seamus Casey are both injured atm?

Canā€™t field a team without a 9/10 free taker
So frustrating

Seamus Casey was in the stand with the extended panel. Jack Oā€™ Connor was on the bench. Casey must be one of the most under utilised forwards relative to ability considering how promising he looked in the 2018 Leinster U21 final against Galway.

Heard Jack got injured in the warm up. Surely would have been brought on otherwise. Starting forwards only managed 2 points from play. Half forward line non existent.

Casey was the best forward on the field for Carlow IT V UCC in the Fitz. 3 of Wexfords starting forwards tonight wouldnt lace his boots. Ditto Jack O Connor. Bizzare stuff.

Davy was trying to convert him into a goalkeeper a year or two ago. He impressed with limited gametime against Tipp in that league game in 2019 where he scored 1-1. Iā€™d imagine heā€™d be accurate on frees too.

Jack was limping in the warm up alright, canā€™t remember the last time i was as frustrated after a game, feels like we stole a point last week and even though we were pretty much behind all game left 2 behind this week.

Damning stuff. Heard that about Jack too. It would otherwise have been obscene not to use him. I know we donā€™t see training but the forward selections in the two games have been very strange, and itā€™s been pointed out beforehand so not after timing.

Is no one gonna mention that Matthew Oā€™Hanlon canā€™t run ? How many balls did Simon Donohue give to Dubs? Fuck me like, poor Damien Reck must be pulling the hair out of his head having to defend with them.

What the fuck was Ryan at passing that last ball?
