See you in Croker for the AI.
Great report
Like you said very early days but good to hear some positives
Youāre right itās January and only Walsh Cup and regardless of how game panned out we contested and should have won a game where 5 of our starting 6 forwards were either making their IC debut or starting for only the 2nd or 3rd time. That in itself is progress
Is the game next weekend on Saturday or Sunday?
Dublin are scheduled to play a football league game vs Armagh at 7.30 on Saturday evening so Iād assume our game would be 5.30 on Saturday then?
We were missing Dee OāKeefe, Liam Og McGovern, Richie Lawlor, Lee Chin, Shane and Damien Reck, theyād be all championship starters. Probably just as much missing as Kilkenny with Ballyhale contingent. Green shoots.
Lawlor has potential but donāt know how you could say heās a championship starter.
You watch.
You forgot Rory Oā Connor. Iād nearly have him starting.
Only nearly??
Yeah Rory would be a starter, you were faster to take down the young lad before you added him but alright.
I wasnāt ātaking downā the young lad. I was taking issue with you naming him as a championship starter when he hasnāt even played a league game. He has huge potential and was our best minor 3 years ago but give him time.
Lawlor will in time be a championship starter. But I wouldnāt be calling him out now as being one of our missing starting players. He hasnāt even made his championship debut yet.
Of yesterdayās starting forward line, only Mac is considered a starter. Add in Chin, OāConnor, Dee, McGovern and thatās 4 who didnāt tog out. Add in Morris, Dwyer, Dunbar, Aidan Nolan, David Dunne and you have a lot of players vying for one or two spots. And then the new wave of lads in there getting their chance. I donāt think at this point you could argue that Lawlor being missing is any sort of factor. Heāll come good, but has a bit to go to break through as a starter just yet.
I see Egan named Oisin Pepper and Corey Dunbar, heās really utilising what heās got.
Yup. Stark difference this year giving a load of young up and coming players a chance to get into the squad.
I had heard a few months back that Aidan Nolan is not involved this year. Not sure if heās travelling or work commitments.
Joe O Connor another one too taking a year out. Canāt blame them, go enjoy things when you can.
Is richie lawlor currently injured? see heās only a sub with DCU in the Fitzgibbon
Delighted Casey is back in the team. I think he has huge potential but wasnāt given a proper chance under Davy. I think he played superbly against Tipp in a league game a few years ago and he wasnāt seen since.
