Davy told him he wasnāt a good enough tackler to start so he spent the last season as a sub keeper. Heās an excellent free taker from my memory of him isnāt he?
Would Billy Dunne be anywhere near making it now at this stage?
I had high hopes for him a good few years ago.
Had a great game I heard vs Laois and Tipp. Think heās still bedding in.
He must be 23 or 24 by now?
Just asked mate of mine involved out in Oulart, he thinks heās 22. I thought he was older for some reason.
Ah he came on in an AI Club semi final in 2016 so is at least 24 this year.
He did as well.
Yeah he was very impressive in that Leinster U21 classic against Galway back in 2018. Think he might have scored 1-7. Scored about 1-1 off the bench in that game you mentioned against Tipp, then Davy converted him to a 3rd choice keeper.
Heās 25 later this year Iād say. Started against Laois in the first Walsh Cup game.
Oulart were conic back in those days.
Their ability to swat the likes of Ballyhale, OāLoughlinās and all those teams away and then lose to Kilcormac, Coolderry and MLR was something else.
Beat the Kilkenny champions 3 years (Clara one year)in a row only to freeze in the final against opposition from Offaly and Carlow. I suppose they did eventually get over the line in Leinster against a coming Cuala team. In hindsight 2012 was a winnable AI club for them seeing as it ended up as a Loughiel v Coolderry final.
They could have done 3 in a row from 2012-2014.
The standard was very bad back then. Coolderry, Kilcormac and MLR all making finals. A Portumna team nearly in their 40ās won in 2014 easily.
Thomasās scraped past a poor Kilcormac team in 2013.
Lougheil were the best of all those teams and could have won more.
Iām not sure how good Clarinbridge really were in 2011. It was a strange one how they came and disappeared so quickly.
MLR won junior and intermediate AIās as well before that under Tom Mullally didnāt they? Some going.
I think they did @GeoffreyBoycott will confirm.
Iām sure Na Piarsaigh posters would admit their Munster Club winning teams of 2011 and 2013 were miles off their 2015/2017 sides.
Thurles and Kilmallock should have won more in that period. I mean Crusheen came out of Clare a few times back then. And shur Cork werenāt mapped after Newtownās decline. Sarsfields ffs.
Ballygunner were in transition. De La Salle werenāt bad I suppose.
Not sure about Junior but they won Intermediate in 2012 against a team from Armagh. That precedence of the Carlow champions being promoted to senior means Naas/Kildare will probably be senior in Leinster next year if they win the AI.
When did Ben Brosnan debut for the footballers? On the road a long while now.
He was on the panel in 2008 for the All-Ireland semi-final anyway. Took him a couple of years to earn his spot as a regular then such was the plethora of talented forwards in Wexford at the time.
