Wexford GAA 2024

Generator was the problem apparently, bit embarrassing to be honest given the huge investment in them.

A good showing no doubt but as you say hard gauge anything really. I thought we looked good going forward and took some nice scores. We worked the 1st goal very well.

Very embarrassing, the lights and i presume generator are only a year old. All this should have been checked out a few hours before throw in.

These things happen unfortunately…shouldnt there be some sort of redundancy or back up system

You want a second genny?

a working one would be preferable.

The CEO is on it I’d say.

CEO has checked out.

Looks like block of hurling then football is gone, proposal to change football to 8 team grades which I’d imagine will get plenty of resistance, not sure on league winners getting an additional point for championship seems a bit unfair as Intercounty effects some clubs worse than others.

Same generator that went up in smoke vs Galway.

@Bandage called out those ‘Qatari style’ lights from the start to be fair.

@Bandage snr did tbf.

There’s 4 national league games due under lights in Feb so can’t fall back on Ferns for those, well the 2 hurling games for certain anyway.

They may get on it. Load of shite that people have to travel half an hour away for a match at the click of fingers.

I’d say the main reason for that was to avoid having Wicklow travel down 2 nights in a row especially players having to leave work early. Ferns was a shorter drive home for them too.

I agree, but still not right on supporters. Was either that or give up points I guess.

Absolutely, whole thing was embarrassing to be honest.

Surely some fella with a spare genny to hire out as a back up.

Have ye tried Chadwicks?

Would Intermediate switch to 16 teams then or what would be the trickle down effect? It would become a minefield in any case. From last year for instance you’d have Sarsfields, Crossabeg-Ballymurn and St James joining Fethard in the Intermediate ranks already containing St Martins.

How many supporters were there? A midweek O’Byrne cup game between a Division 3 and 4 team on a freezing evening wouldn’t exactly be a bit crowd attraction
