I think it wouldn’t do a bit of harm to just switch off all the power plants…just for a month or so. Well stand around with our hands in our pockets and carefully record the change in climate etc.
We could then use this information to make an informed choice. It’s important to keep an open mind

A nuclear plant in 10 years time will allow use to shut down gas turbines. Coal and peat will be gone by then. We can have a mix of 70/80% wind plus other renewables with nuclear base load. We can be net zero carbon on electricity. We can concentrate then on eliminating ICE then. From 2040 we can focus all our time on biodiversity
