Home made Crunchie Recipe

INGREDIENTS: (Makes about 12) 2 tablespoons honey, 60ml golden syrup, 200g granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of water, 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda, 2 x 200g bars milk chocolate

HOW I DID IT: I melted honey, syrup and sugar with water, then heated the mixture on the hob to 150c, using a sugar thermometer to make sure it didn’t burn. As soon as it hit the right temperature, and had turned a pale golden colour, I added the bicarbonate of soda, whisked, then poured the frothing mixture into a greased baking tray. Once set, I cut it into bar-shapes, and dipped them in melted chocolate.

HOW IT TURNED OUT: These were fun to make. While they weren’t as neat as the supermarket version, they were just as sweet and crunchy, with that bubbly, melt-in-the-mouth texture.

An old fashioned yet nuanced selection. Clearly a person with a well cultivated palate that leans towards the classics.

And you can jog on with your Turkish Delight.

The Double Decker. It’s the king of chocolate bars. Nothing comes close.

@Horsebox on the money yet again.

Might buy a Lion Bar this evening.

Nice thumb ring, mate

The new Cadburys Bar with Daim is a genius concoction. Wasn’t a fan of Dime/Daim before these, but they make a cup of tea an even more pleasurable experience

a Cadbury’s Tiffin is a grand bar

Very fond of picnics recently.

Cadburys Caramello, now there’s a chocolate bar you can hang your hat on

A good quality Macaroon bar is hard to beat. Do Wilton candy still make them?
