What Song would you want played at your Funeral?

Good solid protestant choices. Some of the tan funerals here would make the hair stand on the back of your neck. Hundreds of thick necked prod farmers guldering out the Lord is my Shepherd, drowning out the industrial organ playing

May the Road Rise to Meet You.

YNWA?

Look up the lyrics of Wild Mountainside written I believe by Eddie Reader. You’ll find that you can be quite creative with the words without losing context. @Massey had it on some thread there a few days ago being sung by the late Mary McPartlin but I’m fucked if I can find it…The lyrics are the key anyway.

Edit, it’s in Leitrim matters.

One that won’t be written for another 50 years.

Why not

Love that and the French ,and of course besides the Soldier song, Flower of Scotland

Sam Cooke all the way. He was king of soul. Blues all the way. It would be a very sad occasion when I die.

The West’s Awake I like.
I love Abide with me also. The version in the full monty is beautiful and makes me cry.
A gospel choir singing Amazing Grace.

I’ve what you’d describe as a mixed tape on Spotify, around 100 songs. I’d like that playing as background noise at my removal and blaring in the pub for the session after the burial. It’ll freak people out when “I am the resurrection” comes on.

Unless you pop out singing it yourself I doubt it will tbh
