My uncle sang this in the church at my grandfatherās funeral. Think it was my grandfatherās favourite song.

At the cremation today of an old colleague. They played Sail Away by Randy Newman as the curtains came across in front of the coffin. He had been a Randy Newman fan but it was very appropriate anyway.
Got me thinking of what Iād like to be played as the curtains are drawn across my remains. Maybe Into the Mystic by Van Morrison or a piece from one of Morricones Spaghetti Western soundtracks.

We had Viva la Quinta Brigada played for may aul lad as the curtain closed in the crematorium. His 4 year old grandson who was the apple of his eye thought the party was starting and got up on the altar and started dancing. It was a beautiful moment.
I always fancied āTimeā by Tom Waits as a nive funeral song.

Iāve had an epic week at funerals but aside from the final song Iāve decided on the reverse side of the memory card which are available at most funerals nowadays. Here we goā¦.
