Marty Morrissey was hosting Mooney Goes Wild today. Presented a show dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Abbas Waterloo. Fairly surreal stuff.
That new breakfast show on 2FM is horrendous, three presenters and each more grating than the others.
The radio commentary for the Irish Grand National on RTE today was absolutely superb. Richard Pugh, I think was the commentator.

The chap hardly took a breath through the whole commentary, always let you know where all the horses were and to cap it all the roars from the crowd were spine tingling. Radio at its best.
He’s a very underrated commentator. Used to be used by ATR but popping up on rte regularly these days. His only fault was not mentioning Heaney for the last mile.

He was terrific alright. I’d no interest, didn’t know any of the horses but he was enthusiastic and excited without coming across like a giddy idiot like Michael Corcoran.
Pugh is an excellent commentator. Magnificent on the point to point circuit. Listening to him call races has eased the affliction I occasionally have to endure.
Horse racing is a sport for gangsters and cunts.
