What's the Strongest/Toughest Soccer League in the World

I dont want to clog up the transfer thread … I’m genuinely interested in how the different footie nerds here judge this and what metrics they use to measure it.

Dont be afraid - we all know it’s the EPL, but let the lads go at it regardless.

Championship is a tougher league

Attendances, Goals per game, revenue etc, etc.

The EPL is the most diverse league in that it has the highest percentage of foreign players from more countries than any other league. This adds to the competitiveness and attracts a global fanbase.

If there were more English players the league would not be anywhere near as strong as it is.

This is a pure numbers article… pure statto stuff. EPL and La Liga are way out in front

Irrelevant. Bundesliga has higher attendances anyway

They also have the lowest ticket prices… by a long way.

The Desmond League.

isn’t it mad the way @the_man_himself @Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy are so biased against the EPL that they’ll deny any metric given that show it as ahead of other leagues in competitiveness and entertainment.

And the same two sucks watch it religiously

a bear pit.

I’m not biased against the EPL. I’ve barely watched any football this year in any league. I just respond to certain things people say which I don’t agree with/aren’t true

I’ve provided the numbers mate. Numbers don’t lie

Your numbers are nothing to do with the strength of the league, which is what the argument is

Ehm… did you read this article, the first comparison

Competitiveness is not equal to the strength of the league. Division 3 of the National Football League is very competitive

The 12th best team in Italy beat Liverpool this season

The thread title says strongest/toughest.

The EPL is as strong and competitive as La Liga and they are way, way ahead of the others, on any metric you want over the last 10 years

Man City hammered the 5th best team in Italy 5-1 and it could have been 10. What’s your point?

La Liga has been way stronger over the last 10 years. PL was stronger last year but seems to have gone downhill a bit this year bar Liverpool
