What's the Strongest/Toughest Soccer League in the World

Nobody in England can beat Liverpool or even take a point off them and the 12th best team in Italy took 4 points off them in the CL

Kilkenny street league is an awful tough cunt of a league

If man united were in serie a they’d be relegated.

Shrewsbury drew with them at the weekend, what’s your point?

You’re desperate now and looking for cheap likes off the pretend Italians.

you haven’t read the article. Or are you disputing the facts in it with counter facts?

That was Liverpool’s kiddies team. I’m not desperate at all, you brought this argument up for some reason. You never watch other leagues so its strange you’d have such a strong opinion on it.

For me the gauge is how teams from each of the leagues perform in European/World club competitions over a sustained time period.

I didn’t bring the argument up. @anon61878697 asked a question and I’ve provided him with answers backed up by data.

You’ve provided feelings and the fact liverpool lost one match against Napoli. yay you

Outline these facts. Over the last ten years, La Liga has had the winner of 6 of the last CLs, with the EPL having 2. La Liga has had 6 of the last 10 Europa League winners, with the EPL having 3. These are the only competitions where they compete against each other

Footix alert.

the other teams from the league have performed better than the teams from the la liga.

La liga absolutely dominated the early 00’s… the EPL took over 05-10, La Liga took over again between 13-17 and now it looks like an EPL cycle

Hard to disagree…theyre the two best leagues in the world by a distance

You’re being very generous to the EPL there saying it dominated from 05 to 10. 05 Liverpool fluked a comeback against a better team, 06 Barca beat Arsenal, 07 Milan won as they should have in 05, 08 yes, 09 Barca much better than Man Utd, 2010 no EPL team made a CL semi and only 2 in the quarters

I think its too early to say this is an EPL cycle also

it isn’t even close, it goes in cycles then as to which of the leagues are stronger. currently it looks like the EPL is on an up cycle.

Footix gonna footix

Liverpool should have beaten Milan in 07.

you’re looking at the finals. relative to other leagues, the english teams performed better 05-10

I think it’s safe to say that English football is on the up with 3 of the 4 semi finalists coming from the EPL last year.

2012-2017 was an absolutely shocking time for English clubs in Europe, they even dipped below the Bundesliga

You said they took over from 05-10

One year is not a big enough sample in a cup competition

English clubs outperformed clubs from other leagues massively between 05-10

here is a weighted graph showing performance

Figure 4 illustrates how each league has performed in every season, using a points system for each club’s progress. Teams score 1 point if they made it to the group stage but no further, and the eventual winner of the Champions League scores 6 points. The points scored by clubs representing each league are summed, producing a total points score for each league per season.

Does that take into account the UEFA Cup/Europa League?
