The research is very mixed on the subject. The problem with most studies that claim a link between heavy cannabis use and psychosis is that correlation just not have to imply causation, a lot of people who are prone to psychosis self medicate with weed. There are several studies that demonstrate no link and other studies that demonstrate camnabis helps alleviate psychosis (CBD rich strains not THC).
As to your personal experience, itās likely you were already delusional and the weed just tipped you over the edge

Iād agree that it comes down to the person, but so does everything and we have to cater for all.
Iāve mates that continue to smoke regularly with no complaints. I personally couldnāt go near it.
But goes without saying, legalize it and be done with it.

As somebody who spent much of his formative years in a haze, I think that prolonged cannabis use has a bad effect on mental health. Iād only ever have a toke now when Iām pots and pans.

What does that mean?
Some of the āherbal highsā head shops were selling were lethal. Totally unnatural, and made up of predominantly research chemicals such as synthetic cannabinoids. Very easy to get badly fucked up on them, with reports of seasoned stoners ending up in hospital with heart palpitations, etc.

if it fucks you up, dont smoke too much. iād smoke it from about 4pm on a Saturday - 4am sunday (with drink) ,if it doesnt agree with you take it easy cause it can wreck you with a few beers
Cannabis will be and should be legalised and moderated. It wastes a fuck load of Garda time and resources and most Drug Squad Decs would think the same, would prefer to be concentrating on more serious stuff

I donāt think it made it to production for farm use due to the side effects (cattle were in a state of euphoria and constantly mooing for hard house tunes in the milking parlour), but it found its way into legal high pills
