Call the creche. Some are more lax than others.
and there you have it…
,its all a fucking cod
but what about all the obese people and those over 85 who might die?
fuck off
Is it typical for the creches to charge? Our is registered as a not for profit charity and gets funded also by the local enterprise board. They didn’t charge us during either lockdown.
We don’t get charged for any of the lockdowns when they are closed. Grand and handy way to save a few bob.
Would be only wonderful of my two were about to years older.
Perspective is a great things, last lockdown was absolute misery with no definite end in sight.
If it had been open but we hadn’t been attending I’d presume we’d get charged.
Anyone have the kids back in Crèche?
Some of them never left.
Not yet. Not supposed to be open for non-frontline essential until Monday week.
Halfway there.
Started the little one this week. Would prefer not to but needs must for a few reasons.
Has been back since after Christmas.
Micheál Martin said on radio this morning that:
- Restrictions will be in place until June;
- Schools probably won’t be back until after St Patrick’s Day;
- Re 2) above - it won’t be all classes returning at that date.
I’m not sure where that leaves crèches. Will they continue as they are now, open to vulnerable children and children of essential workers? But how can they survive operating at a limited capacity?
Could the early childcare sector demand similar treatment to teachers? Could crèches close or has that horse bolted?
What will parents that felt things would be back to normal from 1 February do? Some of them are essential workers but kept their children off. I presume they can reclaim their crèche places, if they want to.
I’m alright jack
With a straight face, I asked the Mrs before, what’s stopping anyone dropping their child off at the Dundrum Shopping Centre creche and leaving them there all day. I wasn’t satisfied with any of her responses as to why that was suboptimal.
The flurry of questions suggests a lot of tension chez Bandage.
I think we’ll have to live with accept uncertainty until April at earliest.
I’ll be out the gap next Friday. January is the busy month, with all the year-end stuff to do. But I just want to know that my child can be safely accommodated in crèche. I’m an INTERNET forum administrator and I’ve nearly 400 unread topics. Something’s got to give.
the optics would suggest schools ( which are a glorified baby sitting service anyway ) and creches will not reopen until september 2021.
Are the creche still billing you 2k a month tho? that’s a right problem if they are .
W.r.t the point in bold- those horrible bastards were the ones like @TreatyStones who called for a shutdown of schools as they followed the Pied Piper and his rhetoric - " close the schools, lets get on top of this now, lets save our childrens lives"… these are the crowd who called for a reopening of the country, hit varadkaar then when he did so, then shouted for the schools closed and now want them open…this is very uniquely irish thing… Its unbelivable actually when you think about- you have entitlement as well then " i did my bit in the lockdown now i want the schools open"…fellas blitely ignoring the fact that no success criteria was set to open them…
yeah look - its fucking bonkers allright
at least our oldest lad now - its grand the kids meet in groups for homework - i had 4 of them yesterday was actually grand… did some geography at the end with a Panini album and a globe… fellas in senior infants knowing where algeria is because of Rihad Mahrez.
we had a some game of soccer going earlier as well there … id say we had 7 aside.
it was a laugh as the chinaman a few houses down was paying 4 members of the travelling community cash in hand to do non essential work on his drive… the itinerants had garth brooks on full blast in the van and there was a great joie de vivre about the place
Crèches are open provided staff want to go to work in my area. Now, due to shit pay amazingly a good share of staff are happy to stay at home.
I’ve just put down the first full week back and no stories so far. Waiting patiently for the text message & 2 week Isolation period…
The eldest is 4 and I can see she is pretty bored as not all her age group are back and there is just one room. She was so excited to go back which is shit for her.
