I havenā€™t read the rest of the thread but I like actors who can diversify well rather than playing the same character repeatedly.

Such as:

Terence Stamp
Ralph Fiennes
John Turturro
Peter Oā€™Toole
Michael Sheen
Jonathan Pryce

Itā€™s not surprising I suppose how many of the great actors have shakespearean training. Not that Iā€™d know much about it but they say itā€™s a great apprenticeship walking the boards.

Surprised Richard Harris isnā€™t on this list.

He was not even nominated for an Oscar, let alone winning one.

Turns out heā€™s a bit of a far-right QAnon-type nutso

Thatā€™s floored me now.

I saw John Nettles play Brutus in Julius Caeser about 26 years ago. I still remember it as one of the best performances Iā€™ve ever seen. Itā€™s no wonder he went on to be a great detective.

I always enjoy Paddy Considine. He is fairly underrated.

Daniel Kaluuya has been excellent in anything Iā€™ve seen him in

Hes very good. Apparently the reason he doesnā€™t get more roles is he is an absolute cunt.
