Who Was The Greatest Hurler You Ever Seen?

Why would you question Hartnett? He was a super player. Heart of a lion too.

[quote=“caoimhaoin, post: 857818, member: 273”]So?

Doesn’t matter what type o player he was, this is about a persons favorite player. Corcoran, Teddy Mac, John Fenton, Pat Hartnett, Jogn Fitz, Jim Cash, Cathal Casey, Barry Egan, Duirmuid Sully and Joe Deanery were all my favorite players. They were not always the most talented, but I just loved watched them for many different reasons. Horgan, Kearney and Harnedy are the same now.

No…you are wrong Kevin.
Read the sign above the door kev - Greatest hurler you’ve ever seen…read my post on Shefflin I don’t like him but he is the best I’ve seen…you are mentioning players you like…that’s a different thing completely … PS the list is hilarious - all blood and bandage…typical small minded Cork man…

He was a pure mullocker. The hurley probably limited him a lot of the time.

John Fenton,

Fair enough on greatest/favorite.

Greatest Cork player - Brian Corcoran
Greatest other player - Tommy Walsh

Whatever Mac. You clearly never saw him play. He was no skill merchant, but as an overall package he was an immense hurler.

Josh?

John Fenton was pure class.

Best you’ve seen balbec ?

Kevin Hartnett wouldnt even get on a greatest cork 15 not to mind being mentioned as the greatest we have seen…what does he do now ?

Eoin Kelly Tipp when he was in his prime was a sight to behold. Some of the points he got from play defied logic. Tommy Walsh is only man who comes close to saying you are seeing something special in action when you see them play. Shefflin and the likes are fanatastic and legends but wouldn’t have you on the edge of the seat

DJ Carey

Canice.

Saw him plenty of times for both Cork and UCC Kev. The lads on the UCC team used to joke about Pat not needing a hurl to play the game for FFS.

Definitely one of the most agressive players I’ve seen, UCC used to have another similar type of wild man called pat coneely, rem him ?

That was some fucking goal.

A corner back for Kilkenny in the 90s called Simpson.

John Mullane in full flight was awesome aswell, impossible to mark unless you fouled him.

Ken McGrath or Henry Sheflington.
