Who wasn't bugging GSOC

Wha? - Thatā€™s a bit mad.

It has to be cocked

You only flick a tiny switch on a glock, any ape could fire one

there had to be a round chambered but it could well have been in that position already. Standard training would be to load and rack it Iā€™d imagine.

Why? If it has to be used instantly you canā€™t ask whoā€™s shooting at you to hang on while you find the safety. Letā€™s wait til the full facts come out here before setting out theories.

Thatā€™s where training comes in bro, and itā€™s what separates the trained from the civviesā€¦ I know next to nothing about guns tho thankfully and never will.

God bless the Gardai.

Itā€™s not though itā€™s what police and others requested and gun manufacturers agreed. Plus safeties failed more often than not. Fair enough you donā€™t know much about them, donā€™t be suggesting as that other freak was that the poor man was at fault.

Oh not at allā€¦ Thereā€™s only one person at fault here and it ainā€™t the deceasedā€¦ Just human nature to speculate ā€¦was the Garda married? Kids?

None mentioned in the news so I presume not. Big Charlestown Gaa man it seems.

Strange to say but thankfully it appears not, news said he lived with his father.

No wife or kids

No wife or kids. Mate of mine from college from Charlestown was a very good friend of his. He had been stationed in Dublin for years, but always wanted to move back west and finally made the move back west in recent years after his mother passed away, to be closer to the father. I wouldnā€™t claim to know him very well, but met him on my mates stag and wedding, 11-12 years ago now at this stage. Very nice fellow. RIP

Motorbike licence? Maybe twas revoked

Declan Power security analyst on the case here.

As a matter of interest why was a Garda three weeks a detective out on the beat with a gun?

Because he was a detective.

Only one in 5 carry a gun on duty

Maybe it was his turn to get the gun that week.

Another security analyst here being interviewed from his cooker.
