Winning a county title with that Nap squad is like Deilia winning the league with Celtic. It is an achievement yes but the Limerick job would be completely. There was far more experienced Limerick candidates in the running.
I understand the Deila comparison in terms of own county title. But he managed an All Ireland too, pal.
Shane isn’t the worst. He was handed an excellent side and he got them over the line by beating a team from Wexford and Antrim. Beating two teams from Third World Hurling Counties ain’t cutting the grade.

For the record, I don’t think I ever “slagged him off”. But I did say I don’t think he’d be a good candidate for the intercounty job.
