The lads on the ground are saying the depth isnāt there, itās not coming from outside the county. There is definitely a fifteen as good as whatās out there to pick from at the same time. Iād stake my life on Tipp getting out of the group stage next year and itāll be six and half a dozen as to whether they can go all the way then.
He keeps talking about space.
Tipp have a lot on the clock now
Donāt know about thatā¦ They have to go to Ennis and Cork next year.
And Thurles
It doesnāt seem like the same quality coming through
We were very lucky that so much of that 06/07 cohort made it to the senior stage and became the backbone of the team. I know the common discourse is that the group has underachieved, but they were a tad unlucky in that the greatest side of all time were still in their pomp. Since 08, theyāve been in the last four every year except '13 and this year.
I think folks underestimated the stability that Conor OāMahony brought at 6, and the often derided Shane McGrath and Woodlock havenāt been replaced either. The leadership of Eoin Kelly (besides his natural hurling ability) is missing in the forwards too.
The 2016 minors always seemed more workmanlike, without too many obvious stars, and it remains to be seen will a few make the breakthrough. Browne seems light. Morris unpredictable. Iād have some hopes for Mark Kehoe.
The panel never seemed strong this season. No offense to the chap but when Sean Curran starts every league game, you know thereās a problem. Itās like when they reverted to sticking John Devane in the forwards in that awful 2003-04 era.
If he worked with what he had in getting decent ball into his forwards heād be doing more than alright.
Why have Tipp turned into Limerick with hip and whip all of a sudden?
The full back line is the immediate challenge imo. They fucked around with with 3 players in the corners who are the wrong side of 25 this year, none blessed with pace, and are still none-the-wiser who the long term solution to the full back is.
Sheedy with Eamon Kelly as his right hand man.
And, of course, they need to change the jersey.
Only beaten Westmeath, Dublin and Clare since it was introduced.
Whoever is manager the first order of business is to reinstate Hotpoint.
Tipp are not only a bit of a tidy up away from an All Ireland.
Tipp are in complete dissarray. Of the 15 players who started the All Ireland Final win of 2016 only 1 player retained the same spot for the Clare match last weekend, Dan McCormack, who went off after 5 minutes or so. Just change things you say, making 14 changes to an AI winning team within 18 months isnāt enough change? Be ruthless you say, was Cathal Barrett not treated ruthlessly last year? Hotpoint?
I think you are talking out through your hole.
Tipp have been desparately rearranging the deck chairs in hope of it all falling into place and clicking some day. This is clear proof of a team in dire straights. The truth of the matter is Tipp havent been the same since they lost the Polish S & C man to Galway, who now look awesome and well ahead of the pack.
I think you have a misunderstanding of how a modern team dynamic works.
Itās a good point, but John McGrath and Bonner Maher also started in same positions as 2016 final.
Have ye freed up Eamon Kelly for next year yet?
Tipp CB have already been getting price quotes on a larger sized Maor Foirne bib so there may be something to this
He walked last night.
He waddled last night
West Tipp chairman John OāShea has called for Church and his management set up to step down.
A cheap shot .
