Kinane was actually well past his prime by then and had began to be considered something of a liability in day to day racing.
Ideal for that horse though, preserving him through the season. A John Murtagh, Frankie or a K Fallon might have opened him up and hockeyed the Coolmore mob, they wouldnât be able to resist.
I think heâd have beaten Frankel, wouldâve just sat in behind him.
Are horses people now? I wouldnât recognise any horse from another one anyway. Lads say hurling is going the same way since the helmets were made mandatory because Buff is the most recognisable person in the hurling world. I saw a few retired GOAT horses at the National stud a few months ago. The money involved is mind boggling.
Yeah its good identification that there is space there. Oppositions would know what you expect on the open side and get bodies over as there is so many options for 9 and 10 but now there is space out on the blind. The structure would allow a backrow or the hooker to constantly be on one of the wings adding a body creating the 3 on 2 or 4 on 3. It works very well when done right and very hard to defend. But you need players like sexton who can identify the defenders decision by their bidy language in a split second
They need to do something with the helmeys so viewers can see the expression on lads faces. Watching the old games, fellas like JBM and Jack o Shea just oozed charisma
High level horse racing can be fantastic but there are few things worse than low level distance racing on extremes of ground and I watch a nice bit of it.
The Eclipse at Sandown the other week was a wonderful race. If youâre going to watch an Irish horserace this year, watch either the Irish Champion Stakes in early September or the Lexus over Jumps on the final day of Leopardstown at Christmas. Watch 10 minutes before each race, youâd get the picture, ignore the bullshit and jargon.
Ah no - itâs a lot more than that. Their shape of rucks with options flat, on the angle or out the back to a similar pod is levels above what they were trying with Schmidt which was far more about strike moves off setpiece
Sure but just picking a reference point for the difference. The Autumn just gone was the first time we really saw it in my view (maybe a bit in the Eng game a year ago). The first year of Farrell was a bit of a mess
